Ascaso Steel Duo Professional Espresso Machine
|
What's in a name? Everything when that name so completely sums up the hallmarks of quality. The Ascaso Steel Duo Professional lives up to that name, offering a 325mL brass coffee boiler for superior espresso extraction. A button on the lower front panel activates the thermoblock, which provides instant steaming/frothing capabilities on demand and at the same time of espresso extraction.
This espresso machine is unlike other machines with a boiler/boiler configuration or a boiler/thermoblock configuration which only have one pump. When there is only one pump, the user can either extract espresso or steam milk. Since the Ascaso Steel Duo has two pumps, one is always devoted to espresso extraction and one is always devoted to steam production.
Because of response directly from our customers, the Ascaso Steel Duo will now also include a frothing aid, a single hole steam tip and a triple hole steam tip so you can experiment with each of them and truly find what you like best.

Crew Review
Pros
- Professional Size - Enjoy professional results with the 58mm chrome-plated brass portafilter
- Dedicated Water - Easily extract hot water for tea, cocoa and more with the dedicated water spout
- Three-Way Solenoid Valve - Don't let soupy pucks ruin your morning! The three-way valve leaves your pucks hard and dry enough to knock out in one piece
|
Cons
- Panarello Wand - The Duo Pro has a Panarello which makes steaming easy to create soft fluffy foam but does not have an option for a standard steamer like the Rancilio Silvia which makes it difficult to get good microfoam
- Price - While having the dual boiler certainly piques our interest, many of our customers opt to upgrade to a larger-capacity heat exchanger at a slightly higher cost

Features & Accessories
Professional features hidden inside the sleek and solid case of this powerful espresso machine provide high-quality flavor with every use.
Components & Functionality
- Commercial Portafilter: The 58mm chrome-plated brass portafilter is in line with professional sizes and standards.
- Mother of all Motherboards: The programming of the volume of the water through the coffee grind is performed by a flowmeter as well as the well-branded GICAR motherboard - the Rolls-Royce of motherboards in the espresso machine industry.
- Safe: Steam pipe protector so one does not burn his/her fingers when touching the steam wand.
- Three-Way Solenoid Valve: Three-way solenoid valve allows the instant removal of the portafilter handle once the coffee button is depressed to the 'off' position.
- Dedicated Steam Boiler: Independent steam thermoblock with separate on/off power switch (lower panel) and the steam activation switch is on the top panel, top right. The steam boiler may be on or off while machine is in use. For example, an espresso drinker may leave the steam boiler off in order to save electricity. Complete warm up time is approximately 15 minutes.
- Dedicated Water Pipe: Independent water activation switch (lower right of top front panel) which activates a separate valve for hot water through its own water pipe.
- Removable Drip Tray: Slides forward for easy cleaning.
- Temperature Gauge: Temperature gauge of coffee boiler allows you to hone in on best temperature range for your espresso coffee. Note: This temperature gauge should be used as a relative guide on how to make the best out of your espresso machine. Since temperature measurement is a science, a comparison with measuring water at the brewhead will yield different results.
- Low Water Sensor: There is a sensor to monitor low water level in the water reservoir. This helps avoid damage to the heating element in the boiler.
- Panarello Wand: Frothing aid on swivel steam pipe helps in creating good froth for cappuccinos.
Included Accessories
- User Manual: For easy use.
- Single and Double Filter Basket
Notes:
Please note there is no rail across the top rear of the machine as shown in the picture. The reason is that it can impede the opening of the water reservoir cover.
The instructional manuals for Ascaso are printed for worldwide distribution and covers almost every model produced worldwide. With this in mind, there may be features, accessories, or colors available in Ascaso equipment in other countries, but not available in our models produced for the United States.
