 Easily pull richer, more-caramel colored espresso with a thicker crema by upgrading the brew head on your Ascaso Dream, Basic, Arc or UNO Special Edition espresso machine.
Developed by Ascaso, this upgrade dramatically improves the quality of espresso extraction by more evenly distributing steam & water over the entire puck of the coffee, rather than just in the center. The adapter transforms your Ascaso into an espresso machine that can pull shots rivaling those of a Rancilio Silvia.
The kit includes an adapter and wider screen that easily attaches using the same mounting hole as the standard screen (see below for instructions).
The Brew Head Adapter Kit Contains:
- Brew head adapter plate
- Replacement O-ring
- Wider shower screen
- Longer mounting screw
Step by step installation:
Before
you begin the installation, unplug the machine, make sure it is fully
cooled and the water tank is drained. On most models, it's easier to
tip the machine upside down to complete the adapter installation.

1. Remove the factory shower screen using a short handled Phillips head screw driver.
|
2. Replace the O-ring with the one included if the factory O-ring shows any signs of wear.
|
3. Center the brew head adapter over the O-ring.
|
4. Insert the new shower screen and longer screw. Tighten the shower head
screw tightly but do not over tighten as it can be difficult to remove
later.

Installation complete! Refill the boiler with water and brew as normal.

Regardless if you use a pressurized or non-pressurized basket, your newly upgraded brew head will produce a much better espresso with a thicker crema. We recommend using a double non-pressurized basket filled to the top with loose, fluffy, finely ground coffee. Tamp it with 30lbs. of pressure and insert it into the group -- the resulting shot will thick, rich and creamy.
