History
Delonghi was founded on 1902 in Italy and has become one of the worlds largest manufacturer of heaters, air conditioners and appliances. Delonghi entered the US market in 1980 and introduced its first superautomatic coffee machine in 2004.
Today Delonghi manufactures several high-end super automatic espresso machine models as well as more entry level semi-automatic espresso machines, coffee makers and grinders.

Pros & Cons
Based on customer feedback and our own experiences, here's what we like and don't like about this manufacturer:
Pros
- Innovative Design - Delonghi has several innovative designs on the market. Superautomatic machines have very nice casing design and innovative features like a removable brew group, touch screen interfaces, and removable milk foaming pitchers.
- Excellent Warranties - Delonghi covers all machines with one and two year warranties and has convenient warranty centers across the US. Superautomatic machines include a unique 'white glove' service for warranty events which includes home pick-up and delivery.

Cons
- Italian Build Quality - Superautomatic machines are more complicated and can occasionally break down during their lifespan. Fortunately, Delonghi offers excellent service and has a wide dealer network of repair centers across the US.
- Lower-End Machines Not as Good - Superautomatic machine and innovative in design and of high quality. Unfortunately, the same is not true of some of the lower end coffee makes and semi-automatic models Delonghi offers.

Warranty & Repair

Delonghi has regional warranty and repair centers throughout the US, so it's likely that you'll be able to find someone relatively close to you to fix your machine. Shops that work on superautos are a little bit harder to come by, but they are available. Post-warranty, parts are readily available and it's easy to keep these machines alive for well into 10 - 15 years (on the outside) if you take good care of them.
