Gaggia machines and related accessories have been discontinued by Seattle Coffee Gear.
Information provided here is for research and comparison purposes only.
If you're looking for an item that is similar to this, we highly recommend the Saeco Talea Touch.
To make programming and adjustments simple and sophisticated, the
Gaggia Platinum Vision uses a digital touch screen to display icons and
menu options. It also boasts many features seen on the Gaggia Titanium
series, such as the beverage strength system, temperature control, and
a stainless steel front panel. It has a stainless steel lined boiler
and Rapid Steam function for easy brewing and steaming without the
wait. This classically designed machine features an active cup warmer,
a bypass doser, a quiet and reliable ceramic burr grinder, the Aqua
Prima water filtration system, and more. Use the menu to turn
pre-infusion on or off, adjust coffee volume, program water hardness,
perform rinsing and descaling cycles, and change the coffee dosage for
each drink. Even the display itself can be customized to display words
or icons, and the contrast can be increased for easier viewing. The
Gaggia Platinum Vision speaks of great espresso, high end design, and
luxury. Optional .4 liter or .8 liter Milk Island for automatic milk
steaming.

Pros
- Milk Island - This handy frothing attachment stands up well against manual frothing and is relatively easy to clean.
- Bi-Pass Doser - Bypass the grinder with pre-ground coffee to enjoy a cup of decaf in the evenings or a special blend.
| Cons
- Oil-Free- Like most superautomatics, the grinder is not oily bean friendly. Try a medium espresso roast for optimum results.

How it Works
Each time you brew, you'll set the shot volume, dosing and pressure
uniquely so you can easily tweak your shot to your preferences.

Care
For detailed care instructions, please refer to your machine's user
manual. We recommend that you also incorporate the following into your
cleaning routine:
- Descale every 2 - 3 months. We recommend using Dezcal.
- Soap out water tank and drip tray every few days
- Remove the brew group and spray it down with hot water (no soap!) about once per week
| Features & Accessories
The Gaggia Platinum Vision features a smart touch interface.
Components & Functionality
|
- Exterior - Hands
down, the Platinums exterior stands out from the competition. Gaggia
incorporated a stainless steel front panel into their design as an
element the consumer expects from a high-end appliance.
-
Exclusive Touch Screen - This feature offers the ability to select a desired function or to
enter the programming menu by a simple touch on the screen. Available
only on the Gaggia Platinum Vision.
-
Electronic Drip Tray - With a light press of the lift button, the machine adjusts the height
of the drip tray to allowing the use of different sizes of cups.
Available only on the Gaggia Platinum Vision and Gaggia Platinum Swing Up.
-
Espresso Plus System - Regulate the intensity of your coffee with the simple turn of a dial.
An exclusive system allows the user to adjust the body and the
intensity of any coffee blend from mild to more intense, depending on
the individuals preferences, all while maintaining a perfect crema.
- Milk Island - The Milk Island is Gaggias latest answer to milk frothing. It is clean,
consistent and easy to use. The Milk Island is an optional unit that is
connected to the coffee machine and becomes part of the steam system.
Just pour the milk in the jug, turn the steam knob and the machine does
the rest. The result: creamy frothed and steamed milk, perfect for a
traditional cafe style cappuccino. The Milk Island can be cleaned
easily and has a total capacity of .4 liters (included).
- Revolving Frothing Wand - The exclusive revolving frother is always ready to deliver hot water or
steam for a menu of drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, and
more. Mounted on a ball joint, it accommodates any size pitcher and is
easy to maneuver.
-
Ceramic Coffee Grinder - The ceramic burr coffee grinder assures quiet functioning, high
performance and a consistent grind each time. This grinder not only
enhances the functions of the machine, but its ceramic construction
ensures longevity and flavorful beverages.
- Aqua Prima Filter - The Aqua Prima water filter was developed to remove impurities from
your water. The result is fresh, clean tasting coffee every time. The
Aqua Prima water filter also reduces the formation of lime scale in the
machine, protecting your boiler and brewing components.
- Removable Water Reservoir - The 80 oz water reservoir slides out easily from the side of the
machine. Made of durable plastic, it can be hand washed for the
freshest-tasting coffee. The Gaggia Platinum machines will alert you
when the water tank needs to be refilled.
- Removable Brewing Unit - The
brew group is removable for easy maintenance -- just rinse it under
running water to clean out any coffee oils and residue. Made of sturdy
black plastic, it locks back into place for consistent brewing. Your
Gaggia Platinum machine also includes brew group lubricant.
- Cup Warmer - Brewing
espresso into a warm cup helps preserve the thick layer of golden crema
on top of each shot. Use the cup warmer located on top of the machine
to display and pre-heat cups before brewing.
- Bypass Doser - Brew
pre-ground coffee rather than whole bean coffee by adding a scoop of
grounds into the bypass doser. This doser allows the user to brew a
coffee blend, such as decaf, while bypassing the whole beans in the
hopper. This feature is especially convenient when entertaining, as the
host can offer guests regular or decaf blends easily.
Included Accessories
The Platinum Vision comes with a user manual,
cleaning brush and cleaning detergent.
