Crew Review
Pros
- Water Source Switch - Easily allowing for on-the-fly switching between main line and reservoir water sources, the Duetto II lets you change how your water is delivered at the flip of a switch, instead of requiring a technician to open it up and adapt it
- E61 Brew Group - When we compare shots from other machines in this class that don't have the E61, there is a noticeable difference -- the technology is patented for a reason and it maintains excellent temperature consistency at the shot site
- All Access PID - The primary upgrade on the Duetto II is that the PID is the main control feature for the machine - including temperatures in both boilers, choosing the amp, switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit and turning either boiler off to save energy

Cons
- Now That's A Big Boy - The Duetto II is an impressive and commanding machine, definitely a showpiece on your countertop -- if you can fit it there! We don't love the permanent, extended steel top because it requires signifcant overhead and can't easily fit under many people's cupboard clearance. Definitely measure out your space before exploring this machine

How it Works
The Izzo Alex Duetto is a semi-automatic espresso machine with dual boilers, which means you can brew and steam simultaneously. The upgraded PID is the primary interface for choosing temperature in either the brew boiler or the steam boiler, choosing the amp (either 15 or 20), switching between Celsius and Fahrenheit and turning either boiler off and on -- among other functions. It also has a defining technology that allows you to easily switch between a reservoir or main line water source, with the flip of the switch located under the drip tray, and it comes with a hose for hooking it up to your internal plumbing.

Features
The Duetto II really is a unique semi-automatic espresso machine, combining professional-grade functionality with sleek and polished design.
- Water Source Switch: Easily flip between a main line or reservoir source for your water by using the switch located under the drip tray. The Duetto II includes a hose used to hook your machine into your house's plumbing if you select the main line source for water.
- Multi-Functional PID: The primary control interface for the Duetto II, the PID allows you to control the following:
- Temperature of the brew/group boiler and the steam boiler -- no longer has a steam boiler pressure stat
- Change the machine between 15 amp and 20 amp
- Select Fahrenheit or Celsius
- Program the offset for both boilers, making it easy to increase the steam boiler pressure
- Turn either boiler off -- a great energy saving feature if, for example, you're making espresso only and don't want to use the steam boiler
- Commercial E61: This patented brew system is lever controlled and maintains excellent temperature consistency throughout your extraction.
- Stainless Steel: Everything, including the frame, is made from high-quality and durable stainless steel materials.
- Large Drip Tray: Removable drip tray has tons of capacity and can be installed with a drain kit if desired.
- Dual Boilers: Separate boilers maintain temperatures for your brewing and steaming, allowing for fine-tuned temperature regulation and simultaneous steaming and brewing.
- Rotary Pump: Extremely quiet rotary pump makes early morning espresso a smooth an almost noiseless enterprise. Almost.
- Large Water Reservoir: If set to reservoir mode, the 2.4 liter tank features a low water sensor that will cut power to the heater, preserving boiler functionality.
- No-burn Steam Wands: Models produced after April 2010 now feature insulated steam and hot water wands.
