|
We'll skip the traditional comparison to this machine's famed namesake and keep it simple: The Stradivari Manual Espresso Machine from La Pavoni features classic construction and complete manual control over your brew, giving you the chance to brew the ultimate espresso shot. But a word to the wise: Just like the famous violins of the same name, it takes technique and mastery to perfect your 'playing' of this machine.

Crew Review
Pros
- Shots from Heaven - We're pretty sure you're not likely to get a better shot from any other home espresso machine, so the La Pavoni is definitely worth the effort
- Large Brew Group - Compared to other La Pavoni manual espresso machines, the Stradivari has a larger brew group, which has solved some of the temperature quirks of previous models
- Heirloom Design - You could keep this beautiful machine on display and surprise your guests with the amazing espresso you're able to produce with it for years to come
|
Cons
- Know Thyself - A common complaint we hear about these machines is that they can take a lot of work to produce the shots we love, so it's important you know what you're getting into before you buy. If you don't relish the thought of perfecting every aspect of espresso extraction, you might want to pass on this espresso machine
- Requires Burr Grinder - Consistency in coffee ground requires that you invest in a higher end burr grinder in order to successfully extract great shots with the Stradivari
- On the Skinny Side - You definitely use a fair amount of force during extraction, but the body of this espresso machine isn't quite heavy enough to remain totally stable throughout the process. While it's not dangerous by any means, you do need to keep balance at front of mind while you're using this espresso machine

How it Works
Grind your coffee, tamp it, insert the portafilter and lift the lever. Once you hear and feel the pressure build up, you'll slowly pull the lever down to extract your espresso. Using this machine is a bit of an art and a bit of a science.
