Description   Macap, located in Venice, Italy, has been making grinders and espresso equipment since 1930. This excellent low RPM commercial grade grinder. Includes simple on/off switch and removable/changeable ban hopper. Simple stepless adjustment allows for accurate grind adjustment. Bean Hopper: Sturdy clear plastic bean hopper with finger guard and integrated trap door that allows for easy changing of beans without emptying. Stepless Adjustment: Worm adjust allows for allows for simple accurate grind setting. Adjusted while grinder is running. Grinding Burrs: The M4 has 58mm flat burrs for slicing up beans, which is the same size as the Mazzer Mini. Grinder Housing: Solid construction with polished stainless exterior. Has Macap logo on back of grinder. Doser Assembly: The doser is adjustable between 5 and 9 grams per pull. Includes a shot counter on the side. Macap M4 Stepless Doser Grinder - Chrome December 15, 2009 Reviewer: Tom Watson from Collierville, TN United States   This grinder is straight forward from reading the directions.  Please read them, and you will be fine. Upon receipt, I was a little too quick to change the grind settings and make too large of moves with the grinder.  Less than one turn of the adjustment knob in the back, will make a difference.   I removed the hopper and cover the opening with a hockey puck, which is working fine.  This reduces the height of the grinder by about 6 inches.  This works out fine for my application. The grinder does retain a fair amount of coffee in the chute going into the doser.  I removed the plastic shield and use a small crevice tool to pull out all the coffee after each dose.  This eliminates stale coffee, if you have a couple of days between having coffee.  Make sure the grinder is off and the burrs are no longer moving! It took awhile for me to get the grinder dialed in and it was worth the wait.  This is a great grinder, it looks great and you will taste the difference. Thank you for your feedback on this review. Grind fineness indicators on the machine... October 28, 2008 Reviewer: timothy s. from Barrington, IL United States   ...are a little hard to read. The doser can "throw" the ground coffee and overshoot the portafilter if not careful. Grinder is very quiet and seems to provide very consistent result. Thank you for your feedback on this review.
