The Baratza has been a welcome replacement... |

...for my antiquated Krups burr grinder, with it's low growl when grinding instead of the loud, ear piercing whir I heard on my last grinder at 5 am. The ease of setting grinding coarseness allows me to choose whether I want to manually drip, french press or create a tiny cup of espresso. My other grinder inevitably left a smattering of grounds from the grinder, across the counter, to the coffee filter every morning and now, I can cleanly grind and pour. Putting my portafilter inside the chamber under the grounds release is great because it fills it neatly and there is no fuss. The only downside is that there is no timer to control how long to grind and so I sometimes leave wasted grounds in the coffee retainer, which can be problematic if you always want the freshest grind possible. So, buy it anyway and learn to count the seconds you need to grind..

...good grind for the price. A bit noisy but overall good. Main issue i have is finding out the correct dose for my machine when i remove the receiver and use direct to attachment grind.

Easy to use, consistent grind every time and very easy to clean. I have tried other grinders in the past (3 to be exact) and they never held up with daily use. The Maestro is the perfect burr grinder for home use when drip coffee and espresso are a daily (or several times per day) pleasure. This grinder is also a fair price for the quality. It is well-made and is not the flimsy plastic of other grinders I have used.

Grinder has 40 settings from ultra course to ultra fine. I use the finest setting for espresso and get good results. Grind is even and fairly quick and the machine is quiet.
