Non-Pressurized Upgrade/Cleaning Kit for Ascaso

Ascaso Non-Pressurized Upgrade Kit includes a double non-pressurized filter basket and 3 packets of espresso machine cleaner and descaler. The upgrade kit fits Ascaso Basic, Ascaso Arc and Ascaso Dream models and replaces the "pressurized" filter basket that ships with these machines. The non-pressurized basket will allow you to pull a more authentic shot of espresso similar to what can be pulled from a Rancilio Silvia.

Pulling a great shot of espresso with your Ascaso espresso machine using the upgrade kit:

1.) Remove the pressurized basket from your portafilter and replace with the non-pressurized filter basket.

2.) Fill the basket to the top with fresh finely ground espresso. The coffee should be loose and fluffy at this point. Note it is important to use fresh coffee and grind it with a quality burr grinder to achieve an even fine consistency (slightly finer than ground sugar).

3.) Use a tamper to tamp the coffee with about 30 pounds of pressure.

4.) Insert the portafilter onto your Ascaso machine and begin the brewing process. A proper extraction should be thick and brown and take between 20 and 30 seconds to come out. If it comes out too quickly you need to use a finer grind and tamp a little harder. Is it comes out too slowly or not at all you need to use a courser grind. With some practice you can pull an excellent shot of espresso with your Ascaso espresso machine.

5.) Use Cleancaf regularly to keep your filter basket and portafilter clean and to descale the machine every 2 or 3 months.
