Pros
- Affordable - This is the first heat exchanger espresso machine that we have seen floating around one thousand bucks that doesn't sacrifice any quality in the coffee
- Simple Functionality - Very few bells and whistles, but on a machine like this, simplicity is a key benefit in it's usability
- Professional Quality - With high quality parts, this machine is able to produce professional shots of espresso as well as foam for making delicious lattes and cappuccinos

Cons
- Plastic Body -While it has no effect on the performance of the machine, the plastic body does look a little cheap
- The Water Tank - No water level indication, and the hole to refill the tank is pretty small, meaning we recommend using a funnel to avoid spilling water all over the place

How it Works
The Nuova Simonelli Oscar utilizes heat exchanger functionality, giving you professional capabilities with being able to brew and steam at the same time. With that in mind, it is important that you are using a high quality burr grinder with a consistent setting for espresso. After that, apply 30 pounds of pressure with your tamper (58mm). Place the portafilter into the brewhead and pull it snug. Push the brew button and watch the crema form!

We recommend that you also incorporate the following into your cleaning routine:
- Soap out water tank (if applicable) and drip tray every few days
- Backflush the brewhead every couple weeks to ensure the best tasting espresso
- To prevent lime and calcium build up in your machine, it is necessary to have a water treatment and possibly a technician to professionaly descale your machine

- Heat Exchanger: Double boilers are so 2010 -- Heat exchangers provide most of the same tasty benefits at a much lower price point. Brew and steam at the same time with this unit as well.
- Simple Interface: Two buttons and a steam knob. You wont need to spend hours trying to figure out what each feature does, making it easy to pull this guy out of the box, dial in your grinder and make espresso on to go.
- Professional Portafilter: This machine uses a high quality and durable 58mm portafilter.
- Large Water Tank: 2.3 liter reservoir means you won't have to fill up every couple shots -- but we do recommend keeping that tank clean.
- Great Steam Pressure: This steam wand is both capable of good microfoam as well as very quick temperature increases, blasting milk to latte temperature in seconds.
- Copper Boiler: This machine utilizes a more durable copper boiler for a more consistent temperature that should last longer with proper care and maintenance *ahem*descaling*ahem!*
- Cup Warmer: The top of this machine functions perfectly as a cup warmer, with about enough space to hold nine shot glasses or cappuccino cups.
- Sturdy Construction: With the exception of the plastic body, this machine looks and feels durable.
- Removable Tray: Easily adjust the tray or remove it completely to accommodate taller cups.
