Crew Review
Pros
- Amazing Espresso - When we're making our morning espresso in the store, we turn to the Giotto because we know it will always make delicious shots
- No Burn Wands - Internally insulated steam wand and water dispenser keep the casing cool so you won't burn your hands
- Nickel Plated Boiler - Since nickel is more inert, you get the superior temperature regulation of a brass and copper boiler, without the concern of metallics leaching into your water
|
Cons
- Small Drip Tray - The drip tray is on the tiny side, so it fills up quite easily; this could be a good thing, however, because then you'll rinse it more often instead of starting any microscopic planets
- Water Dispenser Design - When you turn the water dispenser inwards, it obstructs the brew lever, which is only a minor annoyance

How it Works
Pull succulent shots of espresso by following these basic steps:
- Turn the espresso machine on; brewing temperature will likely be reached in about 10 minutes
- While you're waiting for the machine to warm up, you can grind and tamp your espresso in your portafilter
- When brew temperature is reached, lift the lever to pull some water through the brew group, warming up all internal components prior to pulling your shot
- Insert your portafilter and initiate the shot by lifting the lever
- Once your shot is complete, push the lever back down to end the shot and release pressure -- you'll end up with a dry puck for disposal
- If you're making a latte or cappuccino, feel free to steam your milk at any time; the heat exchange boiler facilitates simultaneous brew and steam

Care
For detailed care instructions, please refer to your machine's user manual. We recommend that you also incorporate the following into your cleaning routine:
- Descale every 2 - 3 months. We recommend using Dezcal.
- Clean the brew gasket with a cleaning brush daily
- Soap out water tank and drip tray every few days
- Optional: Perform backflush routine and clean the filter basket each week.
- Keep the stainless steel casing shiny with a microfiber cloth

Features & Accessories
We call the Giotto Premium Plus 'prosumer' because of its extensive professional-class features.
Components & Functionality
- Stainless Steel Case: Finely crafted polished AISI 304 stainless steel housing is beautiful and highly durable.
- Nickel-Plated Boiler: The heavy duty-designed 1.8 liter, pure copper heat exchanger boiler has a brass end plate, which increases the thermal retention and steam power by about 40% in comparison to other boiler systems. The entire boiler unit is then nickel-plated, which doesn't react with or leach metals into the water -- it's also less likely to build up minerals so your Giotto will have less scale.
- Professional-Class E-61 Brew Head: The legendary E-61 brew group features a solid, lead-free brass end plate that aids in thermal stability and heat retention.
- Dual Pre-Infusion System: Mechanical pre-infusion system has a progressively working piston and static pre-infusion chamber, resulting in smooth coffee extraction and superior aroma, body and crema.
- Vibratory Pump: Pump features a special device to eliminate backpressure from the boiler, preventing blocks.
- Stainless Steel Nozzles: Steam wand with a 2-hole tip and hot water wand are internally insulated so you won't burn yourself on them after use.
- Removable Cup Rack: You can pull off the cup rack to reduce the espresso machine's height.
- Large, Easy-Access Water Reservoir: Easily access the 98 oz. water reservoir via the separate lid -- you won't have to take all the cups off the top of your espresso machine in order to refill it.
- Low Water Sensor: Level control cuts the power circuit if water is low, with a microprocessor that automatically controls the level of the boiler and water reservoir. A low water level warning will let you know when you need to refill.
- Generously Dimensioned: 20% higher volume (compared to other machines on the market) is paired with optimum thermosyphon system to quickly heat up and provide superior extraction.
