Crew Review
Pros
- Sturdy Compact Design - The Saeco Aroma has a compact and sturdy all metal design and fits easily into compact spaces.
- Ease of Use - With its pressurized portafilter this is one of the easiest to use espresso machines we have tested.
- Shot Quality - Its easy to
produce excellent espresso and coffee from the Aroma. Upgrade the
portafilter to a non-pressurized version for an even better shot
rivaling what can be achieved on the Rancilio Silvia.
| Cons
- Steam Wand Location - The
steam wand swivels nicely but because of the compact design of the
machine it can be difficult to get large frothing pitchers under the
wand easily. A 12 oz. pitcher works fine but it helps to elevate the
machine to use large steaming pitchers.
- Messy Portafilter - When
using the pressurized portafilter the coffee will be a little messy
after brewing. Tip: upgrading to the non-pressurized portafilter
improves this with a dryer puck that slips out more easily
into a knock box.

How it Works
Turn on the Aroma and allow the boiler to heat. Once the coffee ready light appears, place preground espresso in the portafilter and place up on the machine. Put a cup or shot glasses under the spouts and depress the brew button to begin brewing. Press the button again to stop the flow of espresso.
For steaming, press the steam button and wait while the boiler heats to steaming temperature. Once it is ready, place a frothing pitcher under the wand and turn the steam know to begin steaming.

Features & Accessories
Components & Functionality
- Easy to Make Espresso and Coffee - Fill the portafilter handle with finely ground
espresso, tamp lightly and place up on the machine. Depress the
brew button to start brewing and then press again to stop.
- Frothing Wand for Easy Foam - Simply place the frothing tip (panarello) into a milk pitcher and open the steaming knob to begin steaming milk. The specially designed wand will automatically froth the milk to the desired temperature and foaminess. The wand is mounted on a swivel for easy steaming access.
- Saeco's Patented Pressurized Portafilter Design - Typically a very fine grind of espresso (from an expensive grinder) and 30 pounds of tamp are required to achieve and ideal shot of espresso. The Aroma's heavy-duty pressurized portafilter does
away with that concern by pressurizing the brewing chamber to improve
extraction from almost any fineness of ground beans, promoting the perfect brewing
conditions. A non-pressurized portafilter is also available for those that are into tamping their own grinds.
- Large 80 oz. Water Tank - You can
brew a number of espressos and then refill the reservoir right where
it's at (by removing the top lid). The water tank can also be easily removed for cleaning or to refill at the sink.
- Powerful Pump For Consistent Shot Extraction - The
Aroma boasts a powerful vibratory pump rated at 15 BAR of pressure, the
same pump found on top of the line Saeco espresso machines to pull
maximum flavor from the coffee beans.
- Safe, Rapid Recovery Boiler - The Aroma has a large
stainless steel, 950-watt quick recovery boiler. And the boiler also incorporates a thermal fuse to shut down
the heating element should the machine run dry during operation
Included Accessories
User manual, pressurized portafilter with single and double baskets and insert for brewing with E.S.E compatible pods.
