Good espresso, bad steaming wand. |

My husband bought me this machine for christmas to replace a similar design and priced machine. All though this one does make a better shot I drink lattes and the steaming wand is so inconvienent to use I wonder if they had any one test it before marketing it. I have to pull the machine all the way to the edge of the counter in order to get a small frothing pitcher(once steamed and full of froth and milk) out from under the wand and then the residual milk from the wand drips on to my floor!!! I only use the machine once or twice a day and my husband cannot find the receipt or I think I would return it. Next timeI hope they test out the steaming wand with a pitcher full of milk.

I love my Saeco Aroma |

I have owned my Saeco Aroma for over two years. I purchased it from Seattle Coffee Gear of course. My use is limited to one or two Americano a day so I am a casual user. I rarely froth or steam so the single boiler is just fine. However, I will say I am not fond of the pannarello frothing tip but it is adequate for the few times I use it. I did upgrade to the non-pressurized portafilter which I think is mandatory. I also have a quality burr grinder which is also essential in my opinion. Other than the routine cleaning and everyday maintenance all I have done is to replace the portafilter gasket once. I will challenge any espresso shop or stand around to brew as good a shot as this machine consistently gives me. When I do occasionally buy a shot or an Americano I am usually always disappointed. I am totally satisfied with my Saeco Aroma and recommend it to anyone looking for a quality machine at a great price.

After using an Estro 410 for over ten years I moved up to its big brother the Saeco Aroma last December and couldn't be more satisfied with my choice. My only complaint is the ackward wand location but that can be overcome by locating the machine near the edge of the counter-top.

Okay, first... you can make fine espresso in this machine without doing much of anything, if you want to.
"But wait!" you say. "What about the golden rule, 20-25 seconds for a double shot of espresso? Does it just not apply any more?"
Yes, it still applies. A random extraction from this machine might come out in 10-15 seconds. It'll taste good, and it'll have crema, but you might be disappointed, if you've ever drawn some *really* good shots from a commercial portafilter. But you can adjust the flow, and make the espresso better.
First, you can tamp the grounds in this machine - not too hard, but you can tamp them. And, you can grind your coffee beans finer than you might for a commercial portafilter. By varying the grind, and the tamp, you can still get your espresso to follow the golden rule.
I'd give this machine 5 stars, but for one thing. It is as hard as blazes to get the grounds out of the portafilter!

Another New, Happy Seattle Coffee Gear Customer... |

Thank you for taking the time to "educate" a real rookie on the finer details of semi-automatic espresso machines. I cannot thank you enough for listening to my situation, and then pointing me in the direction of the Saeco Aroma. I just ordered one a few moments ago and couldn't be more excited about my purchase.
I'm sure that you have many customers and they probably all have bigger budgets than me. Please know that you've managed to make a strong impression on me while representing Seattle Coffee Gear extremely well. For what it's worth--I plan on telling everyone about my experience with your company.
