This machine is a great value for the money. I've only had it one week but I've been pulling good shots every morning. I upgraded to the unpressurized portafilter and it was the right choice. The only thing I was disappointed about was the gray handle on the upgraded portafilter doesn't match the black machine. The steam seems a bit weak, and my frothing still needs some work. I've ordered the stainless steel panarello tip in hopes it will help me with the foam. I have this machine paired with a Kitchenaid proline grinder and it works just fine. For less than $300.00 I am very happy with my purchase.

...but was waiting to experience a cup of coffee from a superior machine (I have had experience with not so "cheap" low-end machines). A friend of mine has the Seaco Aroma. She made me an unflavored latte', (in the past I always ordered Vanilla flavoring), I purchased a machine the next day!!! In the past I purchased an average of one 16oz. latte' per day. The machine paid for itself in one month. I've only purchased latte's while traveling, since I bought my machine. And I wish I could bring the machine in my suitcase!!

For the price point, I don't think you are likely to do much better than the Saeco Aroma. The pressurized portafilter does a nice job with erratic input (for the novice). However, the steam wand should be longer and extend further from the machine. My wand tip broke into pieces upon first use, but I use the wand without the tip with good results, but either way the Saeco Aroma is not able to get true microfoam (i.e. quality suitable for latte art). Caveats aside, you can still make better espressos, lattes and macchiatos with the Saeco Aroma than you will ever be able to buy at Starbucks. If you have an educated palate, but a modest budget, I would save for the Rancillio Silva, as the Saeco Aroma will not satisfy for long and you will be making the upgrade anyway. If you are just looking for something to keep you from continuing to put money in the coffers of Starbucks, the Saeco will do quite nicely and will pay for itself quickly.

First of all, I want to thank your staff for being so patient with all my questions. I had spent half of one day on the Internet looking at espresso machines and was totally confused when I called. The woman I spoke to when ordering my espresso machine was great! I was not sure what I needed because I had never before purchased an espresso machine before. She guided me through the process and I felt very comfortable ordering the Saeco. My husband and i enjoy the machine and look forward to our special "lattes" in the morning. Thanks again for your help!!!

I was spending at least $25 per week (probably more) on espressos, but no more. After a trip to Italy, I found that the taste of the mass produced, drive through espressos just weren't cutting it. I stopped in at Seattle Coffee Gear to get some instruction and purchase a machine, and the rest is history. Every morning I sit down to a home brewed espresso, and find the memories of sipping a cappuccino for breakfast in Firenze come rushing right back...it's a wonderful way to begin your day. It doesn't quite equal the experience of actually consuming an espresso in Italy (which are outstanding EVERYWHERE, even the train stations) but it works for my budget and makes me start the day on a positive note...my bank account is happy, too! I highly recommend the Saeco Aroma, and Seattle Coffee Gear is the best. I regularly order coffee and maintenance products from the website, and their service is prompt and efficient.
