Take a tour of the Saeco Incanto SBS with Gail

The Incanto SBS is the latest in a long line of very popular fully automatic espresso and coffee centers. New features on this machine include a stainless steel boiler, all new styling, and the Saeco Brewing System (SBS) that allows you to fine-tune the flavor.  Enjoy the Saeco Rapid-Steam®Technology for fast preparation of lattes, mochas, and cappuccino.

The Incanto features common sense controls. Choose the amount of coffee or espresso, its strength, and let the machine do the rest. Perfect espresso, every time topped with golden crema (gold foam on top of the espresso or coffee) and filling your senses with the rich warm aroma of truly fine coffee, all in 30 seconds. All of your favorite coffee house drinks are only a button away!

One touch. All types of coffee...
An absolutely revolutionary innovation. SBS – Saeco Brewing System – Saeco's new patented international exclusive, is the avant-garde technology which has changed the world of coffee machines. This ingenious system allows you to make an infinite variety of coffee from just one automatic machine and at the mere twist of a knob. Whether it is an intense Italian ristretto (turn the knob to the right) or an American-style long coffee (turn the knob to the left) SBS satisfies all tastes giving a full flavor and a truly unique creamy finish. Moreover the coffee dose in the extraction chamber is fully exploited, thanks to the pressure, which remains constant throughout the extraction cycle. This way, all of the aroma is concentrated in the cup, offering you a superb creamy finish and a truly rich flavor.

Fully Automatic Espresso & Coffee Brewing
Do you like to start your day with an espresso, but don’t want to have to clean up the mess? Just press the button and the Incanto will automatically grind your coffee beans, and dispense freshly brewed, rich and flavorful coffee into your cup. This machine allows you to choose the volume and strength of your coffee or espresso by simply pressing buttons on the control panel. Then it cleans up and is ready for the next order in less than 30 seconds. Press the brew button once for a single espresso or coffee. Pushing the brew button twice quickly will put a double shot of espresso or coffee in your cup.

Utilize the enormous flexibility of the this machine’s programming options by varying the water volume up to 7 ounces and the ability to use up to 9 grams of ground coffee per brewing cycle. By experimenting with the water volume and grams of ground coffee you can fine-tune your coffee and easily program these parameters into the memory.

Hot Water Dispenser & Rapid-Steam®Technology
We’re all steamed up about Saeco's patented Rapid-Steam® system! Turn the steam knob and have instant steam you want for cappuccinos or lattes. Other systems can have you waiting up to 45 seconds for the steam function to be ready but not with Rapid-Steam®; you’ll have consistent steam for repeated drinks.

The special milk frothing tip delivers perfect foam every time for lattes or cappuccinos, even if you have never foamed milk before! The steam wand is located on the right front of the machine and it accommodates frothing pitchers up to 32 oz. If you need instant hot water for making tea, hot cocoa, or Americanos, the hot water feature is available at the press of a button.

2 Pre-Set Buttons for Cup Size Selection
Getting a great cup of your favorite coffee is as easy as one, two. Press one for a short and two for a café crème. Say the word, “enchanting”, and by then your coffee will be ready for you.

Espresso, Café Crème or Regular Coffee
In addition to regular espresso, the Incanto you can adjust for the coarseness of the grind, allowing you to brew a Café Creme, often referred to as Swiss brewed coffee for the country that made it popular. For a Café Crème, (or crema coffee) a courser grind is needed. This coarser grind allows for more water to pass through, resulting in a frothy layer of coffee that floats on the top: the crema. Aromatic and rich, it is not as intense a coffee as the espresso, but equally delicious. This feature also makes the Incanto a natural replacement for traditional coffee makers.

Coffee Strength Selection
Some days you need just a little bigger kick to your coffee. The Incanto has a feature that will allow you to adjust the amount of coffee to be ground for each individual cup. Adjust it from 6 grams (- sign) to 9 grams (+ sign) to change the strength of the coffee. 7 grams of ground coffee is the usual amount for espresso, 9 grams is used for coffee.

Special Pre-infusion Brew System Cycle
Pre-infusion allows you to get maximum flavor from the brewing process. This advanced system takes the newly ground coffee beans from the internal coffee grinder and correctly tamps the coffee. Next comes “pre-infusion”. The grounds are pre-soaked and then brewed before being discarded automatically into the internal dump box. The machine then resets itself for the next brewing cycle.

Professional Quality Coffee Grinder with 18 Settings
Proper grinding is at the core of excellent coffee production. The Incanto has a built-in, conical type burr grinder with 18 different choice of grind, from very fine to coarse. The same type used by the professionals. Pushing the brew button sets the cycle in motion with the grinder measuring out the correct amount of beans for the selection made and then grinding it to specifications.

Conical burr grinders are made up of a cone shaped grinding wheel that turns slow enough not to burn the coffee beans, (a problem with low cost grinders). The heavy-duty steel of the grinding wheel promotes a life of long service and that’s strong enough to resist damage from the little stones that sometimes slip in with the beans. This durable construction is consistent with top quality machines and little or no maintenance or service is needed.

Built-in 68 Ounce Water Tank
The water reservoir can easily be refilled while it is still on the machine or by removing it with the easy-grip handle and filling it at the kitchen tap. The reservoir is made of clear ABS plastic so checking the water level is a breeze.

For Perfect Coffee Extraction - a Powerful Pump
Delivering a maximum pressure of 15 bars, this on board water pump pulls the maximum flavor from the coffee beans.

Coffee Bean Storage Hopper & Internal Waste Box
Keeping 1/4 pounds of beans fresh and ready for grinding is the built in, lidded coffee bean hopper. When the coffee grounds are spent, the machine delivers them to the internal dump box; which can hold up to 15 expended coffee portions. It’s easy to remove and clean.

Stainless Steel Heating System
One of the reasons the Incanto is great for anything from small commercial settings to home or office use, is its durable 1200 watt stainless steel boiler. It provides for continuous use or a lot of servings over a short time period.

Adjustable Beverage Dispensing Nozzle & Cup Stacking Surface
This nozzle moves up or down to accept cup sizes up to 3.5” inches high and can be moved aside during the brewing process. There is also cup-stacking surface so you can keep your favorite espresso cups close by.

Operational Lights and Indicators
The machine uses a system of lights and indicators to help you monitor the brewing process and signal when the machine needs to be re-supplied with water or coffee beans and when it needs to be cleaned.

Swivel Base
Getting into your espresso machine for cleaning and maintenance is important for the long life of your machine. The swivel base makes it easy to access all sides of your machine.

Cleaning & Maintenance of Components
In order to keep the inside of your machine healthy; your machine must be cleaned periodically. Scale buildup from naturally occurring minerals in your water can build up on sensitive components like the inside of the boiler, which left unchecked can cause considerable damage to the machine. By descaling your machine every two-three months, your machine will last for many trouble-free years. Saeco espresso machine cleaner can be purchased from us or by calling the support number in your user guide.

The machine will tell you when it’s time to activate the self-clean system by when the light comes on. After adding our cleaner, just press the clean button. The machine will take it from there. Descaling and general cleaning is important even if you have a sophisticated water filter system, and especially if you use well water.

Used coffee grounds are collected in the internal dump box, which can hold up to 15 spent portions of coffee before it requires emptying. Wastewater left over from the rinsing cycles is stored in a removable drip tray. When the indicator lights illuminates, simply pull out the tray, empty and reinsert in seconds. All components such as the used grounds container, drip tray, and water tank can be hand washed with regular soap and water.

Review for Saeco Incanto SBS Espresso Machine October 20, 2009
Reviewer: Jerry Kaifetz from Hebron, IN United States
I have owned several of these types of coffee machines and this is the best one yet.  The support & level of knowledge from Seattle Coffee Gear rounds out the package quite impressively.
This machine makes great coffee, important to me after living in Europe for many years.  The quality of the brew & ease of use is hard to beat.  The footprint is also surprisingly compact, & the cup warmer is great.  The only other feature I would have liked would be an auto-off feature.

Thank you for your feedback on this review. We appreciate your input!

I was in the market for a replacement... September 27, 2009
Reviewer: Herb C. from San Diego, CA United States
...of my Saeco Italia. I shopped all the online sites and I stumbled on your refurbished Saeco Incanto. I was worried that a refurbished unit might not be quite new enough for me since I usually like to be the first person to use something but the price was compelling. I watched the wonderful videos and I ultimately made my online purchase and I can not say enough about how satisfied I am. First of all the unit is in perfect shape, it is as new as anything "new" that I have ever purchased. Second, it works perfectly. In comparison to my Italia, the new Incanto makes a better espresso shot in terms of flavor, crema, and consistency. I have recommended the Incanto to others and I know of one friend that has already purchased an Incanto and is also very happy.

My index finger on my right hand... September 27, 2009
Reviewer: Frank G. from Vancover, OR United States
...has become very important in my life. With this finger I can push a button on my new Saeco Incanto RS and get a wonderful cup of espresso coffee or even a rich flavored Americano. This machine is quiet, functions very well, dispenses a rich and flavorful cup of coffee each time my index finger pushes the correct button. The ease of operation, easy care with almost no clean-up, and reliability of this machine make mornings a pleasure. What a sweet way to wake up. Thank you Seattle Coffee Gear for sending my unit so quickly and for your agent taking the time to patiently talk with me about the features of this machine. The Saeco Incanto RS is a winner!

I fell in love with this machine... September 27, 2009
Reviewer: Elisabeth S. from Irving, TX United States
...when I saw it at a friend's house, and it took me some time to convince myself that I really, really, really needed it. Now that I have, it is everything I was hoping for. It is very easy to use, and it is wonderful to wake up in the morning and at the touch of a button, have my favorite coffee. When I feel like a little espresso after lunch - or maybe a cappuccino - they are at my fingertips. I especially like all the various adjustments for how strong I want my brew to be, and the double espresso feature. I love to froth my milk - for cappuccinos or cafe au lait and it is wonderful to have all these things without any complicated procedures, just by rotating a knob and pushing a button. This machine is everything I expected it to be and I am loving it!

Searching through the multitude of machines... September 27, 2009
Reviewer: Sean G. from Granbury, TX United States
...(both new, used, and rebuilt), I came upon an Ebay listing by Seattle Coffee Gear that caught my eye. It was a machine that I had been looking at by other vendors, but this one was HALF the cost!! They had embedded a video on the page that showed the unit and how to operate it. Nothing like this I had seen on any other pages (certainly an "A+" in my book). I purchased without hesitation. I received the unit in a few days; it was like new. In minutes, I was brewing my first cup of espresso. Following the directions, I had an awesome espresso in no time. The flavor was about the best I've ever had, and was ready for another. This time, I made a cappuccino. As with the instructions, frothing the milk was a breeze. It was perfect, and much better than any other unit I had owned prior. Once again, the taste was superb! Thanks so much for offering this unit at such a great price!
