This newly updated model features improved grinder functionality which automatically adjusts to the kind of beans you're using. They've also updated some of the sensor issues from the first version and give you the option of choosing from 5 different grind settings, resulting in a richer shot.
The Odea Giro II, featuring Saeco's popular OptiDose system, is a straightforward and easy to navigate superautomatic espresso machine. Keeping the operations basic, merely adjust the amount of ground coffee beans used and the brewed volume you desire, and press the brew button once (or twice for a double shot). A high-clearance steam wand accommodates your frothing pitcher without needing to tip it to fit underneath (as with some older models).

Crew Review
Pros
- OptiDose - You can choose between 7 - 10.5 grams of coffee to be dosed into your shot, allowing you to create a richer shot
- Rapid Steam - Quickly heats up for steaming, so you don't have to wait much longer for it to be ready for milk frothing. This functionality does mean you'll need to pull some hot water through the steam wand after you're done steaming so you don't burn your shot
- Excellent Cup Clearance - Might be the highest cup clearance in the superautomatic espresso machine space, often fitting even to-go cup sizes
|
Cons
- No Bi-Pass - We wish you could make shots using the pre-ground bipass, giving you more coffee brewing options
- SBS-Free - Unlike the Talea models, this doesn't have the Saeco Brew System that allows you to change the pressure for more or less crema

How it Works
The Odea Giro doesn't have any programming options, so you select your water volume and dosage amount before each brew. You can then hit the brew button twice in succession for it to produce a 'double' of whatever you have setup.

Care
For detailed care instructions, please refer to your machine's user manual. We recommend that you also incorporate the following into your cleaning routine:
- Descale every 2 - 3 months. We recommend using Dezcal.
- Soap out water tank and drip tray every few days
- Remove the brew group and spray it down without soap about once per week
