The Master 5000 Digital offers the simplicity, reliability and gourmet quality coffee production already present in our popular Master 5000 model and adds extra functionality and customization. The first thing you see on the Master 5000 Digital is an easy-to-read, backlit digital display that will guide you completely through the espresso and coffee making process. The control panel also gives you unprecedented control over the machine. You can adjust the quantity of coffee and water for each cup as well as coffee temperature.

Enjoy fully automated features that will have you making perfect espresso, lattes, cafe mochas, cappuccino, Americanos and other great coffee house drinks, just like the pros. The Master 5000 Digital has an initial heat up time of just over two minutes. It brews espresso using a 15 BAR pressure pump. It will brew a single shot of espresso in 15 seconds, and a double shot in 20 seconds; however, these times can be programmed to your liking. Heat up time for the steam function is 45 seconds with the average heat time for an 8 ounce cappuccino being 1 minute and a 12 ounce latte being 1.5 minutes. Have your own home or office coffee bar! The compact, Master 5000 Digital easily tucks under most overhead cabinets without taking up a lot of counter space.

Advanced features include programmable brewing options, two programmable coffee brewing sizes, adjustable coffee grinder for fine tuning between, espresso and coffee, special pre-brew coffee conditioning system, temperature control, water hardness setting and an automated cleaning system.

Multi-Function Digital Screen
It's good to keep tabs on your machine. With a quick glance at the digital screen, you'll see all the functions and options. Do you want to brew one cup or two? Is your machine in the automatic rinsing or cleaning cycle? Is it grinding or brewing? It's all on the readout display. This versatile machine is also multilingual and can be programmed in English, Italian, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Portuguese, or Dutch.

On-Screen Functions:

Select just the right temperature from Medium, High and Maximum.
Set up the cup size you'd like for each brewing cycle to small, medium or large, or any volume in between.
Monitor the number of cups you brew in a day.
Set the machine to turn itself off after 15 minutes or up to 3 hours of non-use.
Set a warning signal telling you when the machine needs to be cleaned.
Select the automatic rinsing and de-scaling function. (Good maintenance insures top working order and prevents mineral deposits and lime scale from accumulating in the boiler and brewing systems, a major cause of mal-functions!)

Automatic Espresso & Coffee Brewing
The Master 5000 Digital was designed so that anyone, regardless of their experience could easily master the art of making great coffee house drinks. The easy to read digital display provides a wealth of information regarding the status and function of the machine. The control panel has just 5 buttons, which include two programmable buttons for brewing (small coffee or espresso and a large coffee or espresso), steam/hot water activation button, and cleaning button. It also has a programmable energy saving automatic shut off feature. The knob on the side of the machine controls the flow of steam or instant hot water depending on what mode it is in.

Press the brew button once for a single espresso or coffee. Pushing the brew button twice quickly will put a double shot of espresso or coffee in your cup. Utilize the enormous flexibility of the this machine's programming options by varying the water volume up to 12 ounces and the ability to select up to 9 grams of ground coffee per brewing cycle. By experimenting with the water volume and grams of ground coffee you can fine-tune your coffee and easily program these parameters into the memory. Take it one step further by programming the coffee temperature for the ultimate cup of coffee. However, feel free to utilize the factory settings as well if you wish.

Excellent Performance

Make Perfect Foam Like The Pros
The Master 5000 Digital is equipped with a steam wand and milk-frothing tip that insures loads of foam for lattes and cappuccino. You can also remove the frothing tip and use the standard steam wand if you prefer to have more control over the consistency of the foam. The steam wand is conveniently located and swivels to accommodate frothing pitchers ranging from 12 oz. to 20 oz. in size.

The machine is equipped with an instant hot water feature, by turning the steam/hot water knob on the right side of the machine; hot water will dispense from the steam wand. Use this feature for tea, Americano, and pre-warming or rinsing your cup.

Make Espresso or Coffee
When we mention that the Master 5000 Digital makes coffee, we mean that it can replace the ole drip coffee maker. Super automatic coffee machines like the Master 5000 Digital feature a "beans to coffee" brewing method. Just as it can automatically brew 1.5 ounces of coffee to make an espresso, it can be programmed to make an 8 ounce cup of coffee as well. This type of coffee in known as cafe creme or pressure brewed coffee. Since the coffee is brewed under high pressure, the machine achieves maximum flavor extraction, wonderful aroma, and the coffee will be topped with subtle golden foam called crema. Crema results from the extraction of the fine elements from ground coffee beans during brewing. Most people gracefully retire their drip coffee maker after they try cafe creme coffee from a super automatic espresso/coffee machine.

Coffee Strength Function
You can also adjust the dosage of ground coffee that the machine uses each time it makes a cup of coffee from 6-9 grams. The average shot of espresso uses about 7 grams of ground coffee.

Pre-infusion Brew System
Aroma and maximum flavor extraction is insured thanks to the pre-brew system. The two-step pre-infusion cycle moistens and conditions the ground coffee, which maximizes flavor extraction to increase the thick crema on your espresso. The Solis Master Digital 5000 accomplishes this by infusing (or presoaking) the fresh coffee grounds with a dash of hot water for 2 seconds. Thereafter, it completes the brewing process by infusing the remainder of the predetermined water through the coffee grounds. The result is a superior cup of espresso or coffee.

Additional Features
Professional Quality Adjustable Coffee Grinder
All Solis fully automatic coffee machines feature a high quality coffee grinder. Residing just below the coffee bean hopper, when activated it draws coffee beans into its Swiss made, hardened steel cutting wheels. The main cutting wheel is a conical (cone shaped), burr grinding wheel. Conical burr grinders are ideal for coffee grinding because they are relatively quiet, powerful, tough, and virtually maintenance free when used in super automatic espresso machines. The grinder has 18 settings so you can fine tune the setting based on your coffee blend.

Built in 2 Quart Water Tank
This machine has a large 2 quart water reservoir that can be removed for refilling. It sits on the top left of the machine and it can be removed easily, even under limited height overhead cabinets.

For Great Flavor Extraction; A Powerful Pump
This 15 BAR pump delivers more than enough pressure to pull the maximum flavor and aroma from the coffee beans.

Coffee Bean Storage & Internal Coffee Grounds Waste Box
The coffee bean hopper holds up to a pound of coffee beans. The machine can brew up to 20 cups of coffee or espresso before the internal coffee grounds waste box must be emptied. The dump box slides out of the left side of the machine.

Heavy Duty Heating System
The Master Digital 5000 comes with a durable 1250-watt boiler. Once it is warmed up, provides for continuous use or a lot of servings over a short time period.

Adjustable Beverage Dispensing Nozzle
The nozzle where the coffee is dispensed is adjustable between 3 and 4 inches to accommodate small and large coffee cups.

Cup Storage Area
This machine features a cup storage area located on top of the machine. Remove the lid to expose the cup slots.

Cleaning & Maintenance
In order to keep the inside of your machine healthy, the Master 5000 Digital must be cleaned periodically. Scale buildup from naturally occurring minerals in your water can build up on sensitive components like the inside of the boiler, which left unchecked can cause considerable damage to the machine. By descaling your machine every two-three months, your machine will last for many trouble-free years.

The Master Digital will tell you when it's time to activate the self-clean system by displaying a message on the digital screen. After adding our cleaner, just press the clean button. The machine will take it from there. Descaling and general cleaning is important even if you have a sophisticated water filter system, and especially if you use well water.

General maintenance is simple. Weekly rinsing of the internal brewing system, which removes in just a few seconds and rinses under the faucet, descaling 3-4 times per year and occasional emptying of the drip pan that slides from the front of the machine are all it takes to keep your Master 5000 Digital running smooth.

...fully automatic espresso machine about four years ago. Our justification was that if we produced 5 drinks per week, at $2.00 each (setting the bar low), it would pay for itself in 40-80 weeks. Of course, this isn't a truly accurate model but it gave us a relative view of the investment. We have produced many, many shots to date - probably around 25 per week - and have only cleaned the machine regularly - no other service has been required. It's been going over 4 years, and makes a great shot of espresso. We're very happy with the purchase, and we're happy we chose a fully automatic version - it's great to just push a button and have a shot emerge from the machine while I'm feeding the cat, or even just staring out the window. We have not missed pulling shots manually, plus I think it's cleaner and neater than a manual machine would be. Seattle Coffee Gear is a great company to do business with, too!
