Quality Built Espresso Machine
Review by Maury the ham operator -
Quality Value Price I have owned this machine for about 2 months now and it performs very well. Always lots of steam and quick recovery from brewing. If you put too much coffee in the filter basket, you cannot lock the basket and holder in place, because the coffee hits the bottom of the water head. Just level fill and tamp and it works great. Coffee filter is held in place in the holder by a wire spring and conventional knock out will put the whole filter in the canister, so you must knock the filter against a plastic lid in your hand. If you leave the filter and holder attached to the machine and let it cool down, it will be very difficult to get the basket out from the water seal; same issue as knocking out the coffee from the basket, basket comes out of the holder. Even though the water resivoir is a little too small for all of the features of the machine, it has a warning light for low water and a buzzer and machine shut down, if it is out of water. The hot water function is great for a quick cup of tea for those in your group that do not drink coffee. The steam and water discharge at the end of steaming dumps into the water reservoir instead of the drip tray, like most machines I have used in the past; this is a great feature. The manual is a little weak, because they try to cover all models in one booklet. Programming the length of your shots is not described very well, but just remember that the "XL" button is not programmable, but used to get a long flow of water manually, and used to start the programming length for the "S" and "L" buttons. I use this machine two to three times a day and I recommend it highly, if you want a well built machine.
Pros:
Easy To Use, Quiet, Commercial Grade, ALL Stainless, Easy To Clean
Cons:
Small Water Container, Filter Loose Fit(Posted on 9/12/11)
