Crooked shots happen even to the best of us, but Cafelat's Tamping Stand is designed to decrease the frequency of lopsided espressos. If you dig single shots and find it difficult to get an even tamp with your single spout, this Tamping Stand is your solution. A stainless-steel internal frame is coated with food-grade rubber, providing a level and slip-free base on which to tamp single, double and bottomless portafilters.
How the Cafelat Tamping Stand Works
- Place the tamping stand on the countertop
- Fill your portafilter and place it down on the rubber padding
- Give it a good approximate 30-pound tamp

I am glad I bought the tamper stand. With the filter holder in place I can press down hard and evenly on the coffee grounds. Without the stand the filter holder will not lie flat on the counter when I tamp down on the coffee.

Especially helpful with the single portafilter, Protects the countertop. Occupies less space than most of the better tamping mats.

Not something anyone must use but really makes the tamping easier. Big help with single and naked portafilters. Sturdy and well designed.
