Quick Overview
With 17 grind settings, this handy Capresso Flat Disk Burr Grinder is a good fit for all coffee applications from fine espresso to coarse percolator. The vertical grinding design prevents clogs and leaves fewer stale grinds behind. An insulated cover lid reduces grinding noise in this full featured value priced grinder.
Disk grinders usually rotate faster than conical burr grinders, an unwanted side effect that warms the ground coffee with friction. They are less expensive than conical burr grinders, and are well suited for home use when grinding small amounts of coffee so theres is no time for heat build up.
How the Capresso Flat Disk Burr Grinder Works
- The timer can be set between 8 and 40 seconds. When grinding in the finest position, less coffee per second will pass through the grinder than when grinding in the coarsest setting. Therefore the numbers around the timer do not represent number of cups but serve as a reminder for your personal setting. Remember, you can always stop the grinding process by simply pushing the on/off button.
Features & Functionality of the Capresso Flat Disk Burr Grinder
- Vertical Grinder - The removable, vertical burr grinding plates are designed to operate with a low RPM (rotations per minute) so that your coffee beans maintain their intended flavor profile. Seventeen different grind settings allow you to have precise control over the consistency.
- Function and Form - The Capresso grinder has separate On/Off buttons, so you can stop grinding or have a pulse grinding option. Or, use the electronic timer to grind from 8 to 40 seconds with the press of a button.
- Capacity - The removable coffee bean hopper holds 14 ounces, and the easy-to-read settings on the side show you how position the plates to achieve the perfect grind for your ideal type of coffee.
- Easy to Clean - The grind elements are removable and you should pull the burrs from the machine for occasional cleaning. The design of the system in the Capresso makes that easier than most other grinders.
- Safe and Quiet - With features like an insulated safety lid and internal cord storage, this grinder does the job as safely and quietly as possible.

Affordable Burr Grinder that Works
Review by bike_n_row -
Quality Value Price I will admit that I was skeptical in ordering a burr grinder for [$] However, this entry level grinder does a nice job. This is my first time using a burr grinder and I was attracted to its small size. The static cling of the ground coffee has not been an issue.
Pros:
Easy To Use

Excellent overall
Review by Alan -
Quality Value Price Excellent choice for auto drip machines and basic espresso. Not designed to compete with high end grinders that are paired with high end espresso machines, but an excellent companion to lower end espresso machines and drip machines. Produces a consistent grind and easy, reliable settings. Great value for the money.
Pros:
Easy To Use
Cons:
Noisy(Posted on 7/12/11)

A Great Burr Grinder For The Price
Review by Paul the Perfectionist -
Quality Value Price After a bad start (the 1st grinder failed after 3 days), the replacement from Capresso is working just great. The points in the staff's video are correct, concerning the fineness of the grind and static cling. I use a Senseo machine with a coffee duck for making my daily coffee. I find that this grinder easily allows me to match the grind found in the origional pods but with a richer tasting brew acheived.
Pros:
Easy To Use
Cons:
Messy(Posted on 3/30/10)
