Erin F: It was on sale and I wanted something that was easier then using my espresso machine. Apr 7, 2012
Philip K: To be honest I was just being lazy. I was impressed by the video and thought it was a good way to save time in the morning rather than steaming my own milk for my cappucino. Turns out it makes better froth than I could when I'm in a hurry. Apr 6, 2012
Mary L asked: Has anyone had trouble with their frother not spinning? It heats but doesn't froth. I've had it for a week and it worked great the first few days and then stopped spinning, so no froth Jul 20, 2013

Eva W: I've had my frother for almost 2 years and have not had any problems. I rave about my frother to everyone! I know this doesn't help with your problem, but perhaps you received a "lemon." Maybe you can exchange it and try again. Jul 22, 2013

Jennifer F: Yes! We have had ours longer than you, but it also used to work and now it really doesn't. I haven't had time to contact the company, but I am very disappointed and not sure how to proceed since we are probably out of warranty. Jul 22, 2013

Alan P: No trouble with not spinning for me. Had it two years but have used it infrequently in the past year. Still, it has always worked fine and has always made froth excellently. We love it here. Jul 22, 2013

Teri KStaff: Unfortunately we do not offer a separate cup for the Capresso Froth Pro Milk Frother. You may find one for sale with Capresso, and they can be reached at 800-767-3554. Sorry I can't be of greater assistance on this! Dec 14, 2013

Nora P asked: is the inside coated in Teflon? Apr 2, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Tito J: The inside is Teflon. However I would not call it a true steamer. It heats up the milk but not over the boiling point. The spinning disk on the bottom creates the frothing effect. It makes it also very easy to clean. Just add soapy water to the container and let the disk work and clean itself using no heat settings. Apr 9, 2012
Reply to Tito Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
JDavid R: I believe it is. It feels like it, and cleans up easily, but I don't see it listed anywhere. It hasn't gotten scratched, which for me is the easiest way to tell. I have the frother at work, and I'm at home now. I'll take a closer look monday, and if I have any more info I'll report back. Apr 7, 2012
Reply to JDavid Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
JDavid R: An understandable concern, though teflon remains essentially inert at milk-frothing temps (~200F) used in this application as opposed to stove top use where teflon particles are released at >464F, and toxic gas at >680F.

Reference; search "Canaries in the Kitchen: Teflon Toxicosis" Environmental Working Group. Apr 7, 2012
Nora P: Great info - Thanks. Now I am considering the Nespresso frother- they tell me it does not have Teflon lining but it does have some sort of non-stick lining and I a trying to find out about that. Apr 9, 2012
Heather N: I believe so, but it doesn't say in the instructions. You can always call and ask the manufacturers directly (1-800-767-3554). It's been a great frother, if that helps at all. Apr 7, 2012
Reply to Heather Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Erin F: I am not sure it if is Teflon, but it seems to be some sort of non stick coating. I only put milk in my frother and rinse in right away, so I never have had to scrub it. Apr 7, 2012
Reply to Erin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Robin W: Yes it is. We just rinse it out and wipe it dry with a dish towel........and it's ready to go. We have used it every day for a month now.....and it is still amazing. Apr 6, 2012
Reply to Robin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Shauna-kaye S: I believe it might be teflon. It is non-stick, which makes it easy to clean away those sticky remnants of the milk. Apr 7, 2012
Reply to Shauna-kaye Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Philip K: Yes, the inside is teflon coated. Seems to be fairly scratch resistant. No scratches after 6 months of use. Apr 6, 2012
Reply to Philip Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Kaylie KStaff: Yes, the Capresso Froth Pro automatic milk frother has a Teflon coating inside. Apr 9, 2012
Reply to Kaylie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Nora P: Thanks! I am concerned as Teflon is potentially toxic when heated and i am afraid the toxins will each into the milk. . I was hoping for a frother without a potentially toxic coating inside. Apr 9, 2012
Kaylie KStaff: While the Teflon coating on the inside of the Capresso Froth Pro should not pose any health risks, I understand the desire to use a product not containing certain materials.

The new Capresso Froth Plus utilizes a plastic container and will be on our site in May. Apr 9, 2012
Nora P: Yes. and evidently is is BPA free! Apr 9, 2012

A shopper asked: Whats the minimum milk level on this one? i dont always want to use 8 oz of anything because it's usually just for my one cup. Aug 5, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Joe A: It works great at all levels. I am typically a single cup drinker, so I fill it to about 1/3 or slightly less for my morning cappuccino . The frothed milk will be about double what you pour in initially if you let the unit run the full time where it shuts off automatically.

One good tip I have found is to let the pitcher sit in the frother holder for about 20 to 30 seconds after it has quit, as the unit will heat the milk to a much better temperature than if you immediately remove it upon shut off.

It is an amazing, reliable device and the price is so reasonable - a real bargain!

Paul E: I don't know the actual amount but I often use just enough to cover the mixing blade thingy. So that is about 3/8" of milk, which is probably less than 3-4oz. BTW the Capresso milk frother is fast, easy to clean and does a fantastic job. Aug 5, 2014
Reply to Paul Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Debra H: Depends if you're making a latte or just want steamed milk. If I do a latte, I pour milk into the cup I will be drinking out of first, just over half full.
For a cup of joe,I honestly just eyeball how much milk I want for that day.

Richard B: We have used the frother for over a year and a half and NEVER used 8 oz. of milk. 2-3 oz. will work and the machine shuts itself down automatically. If you reheat the milk you need to watch it or it can overflow. We are happy "campers Aug 5, 2014

KEVIN H: Minimum for frothing is 4oz, max is 8oz. If you're just heating up something like hot cocoa, then probably 12oz. Aug 5, 2014

I found that the disk, attached to the motor shaft, with magnets which cause the foam disk to rotate is made out of the poor quality plastic. This plastic cannot hold the strong magnets (4) in place for very long time and collapse after about 100 operations.

Unpredictable foam

The machine produced intermittently good results for the first 3 weeks. I have tried multiple combinations of milk types and found that they did not ensure that the foam was creamy thick.
The foamer is relatively inexpensive. It takes about 3 minutes to froth and heat the milk, so I would have to start this process before the coffee.
The pitcher is very easy to clean.
I am going to look for another type of frother.

I finally found the perfect milk frother. I get just the right amount of hot milk to silky milk froth. With the auto cut off feature there is no guessing. The milk is like whipped cream. I am impressed. I love the money I am saving by making my lattes at home.

This frother is effective and easy to use and to clean!!! It produces a lot of froth and hot milk both, which is ideal (for us). It is not quite enough for what we need but would be for those using normal sized cups. The taste is not quite steamed but still good. It is also cheaper than other brands, but still good quality. I read and can confirm you need to keep the pot off the burner when it's finished (especially when it's empty), like you would a pot on a range. And don't sit the pot just on something that can be burned after you pour out of it--it will be hot like any pot would--use a pot holder or wood surface. I also unplug it when not in use. But it does EXACTLY what it's supposed to! We need a bit more milk that it can produce, but that's our fault, not the frother's. Last: it takes over 3 minutes so you need to start it ahead of when you need to pour it. Some machines finish in about a minute but this one needs more time than that.

I used this product 17 times in a little over two weeks, then it no longer frothed. It was fantastic while it lasted...I have now returned it to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. They were very nice on the phone and I hope they do as promised. It cost about $10.00 to ship back to the manufacturer, so add that to the cost. But while it worked....it turned non-fat milk into creamy decadence. I read reviews that some people had issues with theirs within the first month and others have had no problems under frequent use. I hope that when it is returned, it will last longer.

I add a measure of cold coffee brew, fill to middle mark with skim milk, then filtered water to top mark, push middle timing button, and it makes a great frothy coffee latte-like drink! I even like to add three heaping teaspoons of Coffee-mate French Vanilla powdered coffee creamer.

For hot chocolate I use powdered chocolate mix. I turn the milk on, so it's spinning, while I slowly add the chocolate.

I've also made gravy in it, but this takes multiple cycles with the middle timing button. Be careful to not over fill it or the gravy can run over the edge.

We replaced our Capresso FrothXpress with this gem. It produces beautiful foam in less time than it takes to grind beans and make espresso with our hand pump Olympia. The heating disc works great for hot cocoa. One surprise when swapping the frothing and heating discs: the magnet holds so tight that we had to use pliers to remove the frothing disc since we didn't want to risk damaging the "feathers" on it.
