Great value.
Review by Troy -
Price Value Quality This tamper is a great tool. It's well weighted and fits my larger hands very well. You won't find a better tamper for $28.... I tried for weeks.

Perfect Fit Perfect Shot!
Review by Herb -
Quality Value Price I had been using a tamper that was too small for my coffee basket and was always having to tamp it here, tamp it there, just to get all the coffee ready to give me that perfect shot.
Gail told me I needed the 53mm tamper, and recommended this brand. Was she right! Every morning I am eager to use the proper gear for the proper shot. Seattle Coffee Gear knows their stuff! Thanks again......

Rattleware Stainless Steel Tamper
Review by Jim -
Quality Value Price These are well priced and well made. The down side is that the edge wears over 2 to 3 years of daily use. This is unavoidable as it makes contact with the porta filter basket during tamping. At some point in time this makes it start to hold coffee grounds and it does not do the job required. This could only be avoided by slightly undersizing it but then that would not allow it to tamp properly. Nothing lasts forever and I make 4 doubles a day so overall it is a great value in my opinion.
Pros:
Easy To Use, Commercial Grade, Easy To Clean
Cons:
The edges wear with time(Posted on 4/3/12)

Nice
Review by gbernardwandel -
Quality Value Price This is only the 3rd one I have used with regularity. My first one was a custom built medium weight one, and my 2nd one was a light weight one for home use. This one has nice weight. It was free with purchase. I see no need yet to upgrade until I get a better sense of the subtleties
Pros:
Balanced decent weight
Cons:

Great Tamper at a Great Price
Review by Home Barista Wantabe -
Quality Value Price Like most people, I decided to ditch the cheap plastic tamper that came with my Espresso Machine. I contacted SCG and asked them about some of the tampers that would work well for my given machine. They told me that this tamper was a good fit for my machine and desired price range.
Rattleware makes very good products and they are all reasonably priced. This is a very nice tamper at a great price. You can pay more if you want to, but I don't think you are going to find a better tamper at any price range.
Pros:
Easy To Use, Easy To Clean, Commercial Grade
Cons:
None(Posted on 3/16/12)

Must Have
Review by mah19 -
Quality Value Price I used a plastic tamper which came with my old Gaggia. Now I know why all the commercial establishements use a metal tamper. You get more control and the pressure is equal on the tamp. A metal tamper is the only way to go. This one works just fine.

The size leaves the grounds evenly distributed.
It is well made and feels like it will last for quite a while.
