A shopper asked: If you have the Ena 5 under cabinets how many inches do you need to fill the water? Jul 5, 2013

David C: Mine sits unobstructed on an island, but I did some measuring when picking up the reservoir and it looks like you'd need between five and six inches of free space above the machine (I'm allowing two inches for my hand in that measurement) to pull the tank up, out, and then swing it behind the machine to get it out.

Again, my machine is not confined by overhanging cabinets so I just pull the reservoir straight up and out . I hope this helps answer your question and give a better idea of how you would situate the machine in your home. I LOVE mine!!!

Chris G: 3-4 inches will suffice. Once lifted up a couple of inches you can move the water tank backwards and then around the side of your machine. My ENA 5 currently sits in the corner of my kitchen under cabinets (6-8 inches of space).

I would highly recommend this product if you are drinking espresso. While it can produce full cups of coffee, the water tank is too small.

Margaret L: Just about 3. You can probably get away with less. You just need enough to lift the handle and then an exta 1/4in to pull it up so that it can slide out the back. Jul 6, 2013

Henry S: We returned the ena for another with a side mounted water tank. The rear tank was difficult to access under counters. We are very happy we made the switch. Jul 6, 2013

Alex R: Water tank is almost as high as the machine...including your hand I would allow double the height of the machine to be safe. Jul 7, 2013

Robby G asked: Is there any way to see how many espressos have been brewed on the machine like you can on the other Jura superautos? I know the warranty is good for up to 6,000 coffees; it would be nice to be able to know how many you've done so far so that you know how much of the warranty you have left. Feb 24, 2013

Alex R: Don't think it's possible. I bought a refurbished unit and warranty was 12 months (?) and not based on number of shots. Hope this helps. Feb 26, 2013

tom h: When calling the Jura Customer Service for a warranty issue they will walk you through how to get the numbers - then you'll know. Mar 6, 2013

Mohamed E asked: How many grams of coffee does this machine use when set to Mild, Normal or Strong? How about 2 Cups?
If I want a strong Espresso, is it better to select Strong or 2 Cups? (Assuming same amount of water for each).

    Thank you

Teri KStaff: At the strong setting, this Jura Ena 5 has a variable brewing chamber that holds between 5 and 16 grams of ground coffee. The 2 Cups option always brews the Strong setting, but also doubles the volume of liquid. This is explained in the manual as the following:

"Please Note: When selecting 2 CUPS the ENA will always grind in position STRONG and will double the programmed volume, e.g. if the programmed volume is 5 oz. the ENA will brew a total of 10 oz. of coffee."

Therefore for the strongest espresso, I would suggest using just the Strong programmed setting and not the 2 Cups option, as it waters down the espresso with the intention of using two cups and doesn't increase the grams ground. Hope this helps clarify!

A shopper asked: I know it does Espresso but can you make a cup of coffee with this machine as well? If so, how? Jul 3, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Teri KStaff: Any super automatic machine can make an Americano, which is a shot of espresso with more water pulled through. This is the closest you will get to a regular cup of coffee with any super automatic machine. Jul 6, 2013

Jason asked: What is the difference between the Ena 5 and Ena 4? Jul 1, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Teri KStaff: The Ena 4 has a panarello wand for frothing, while the Ena 5 has a panarello wand, but also an auto froth attachment that you can use for this model. Otherwise, the two Enas are really the same! Jul 6, 2013

I had this machine back in Germany but gave it away to a friend when moving to the US (220V vs. 110V).
After 2 years I just could not wait any longer.
Considering I drink my coffee black, I do not need the ENA9 (easier to make latte and cappuccino) but still have the option in case someone else is fancy a latte or cappuccino.
The best coffee to use is European espresso (lighter roast, not oily) not only because of the taste but also because of the beans do not stick in the shoot (the oil makes sliding more difficult so you might need to help manually).
The best coffee imho, is Tre Forze which is unfortunately not available in the US hence I have a friend from Italy sending it to me.
Medium temp, ground size on on three and setting on strong, this espresso is just a pleasure to enjoy.
The machine itself; easy to handle, easy to maintain, easy to keep clean.
The right size for the countertop and a very nice design as such.
Considering I am also able to work in my home office and have a lot of guests, this machine makes average about 10-12 espresso a day and more. So far it keeps it up. (2 month in use as of now)
Even for the original price, it is a bargain.
