Saeco

Saeco History

Near Bologna, Italy, founders Sergio Zappella and Arthur Schmed began designing automatic espresso machines in 1981. Since then, Saeco has continuously worked to improve the machines it offers — addressing design, functionality and customer feedback with every new iteration. In 1985 they designed the first Super-automatic for home use. They acquired the historic brand, Gaggia, in 1999. Now they are a division of the world famous Dutch brand, Phillips.

Equipment Specialties

While most of Saeco's products focus on Super-automatics — the Odea series, Talea or Xelsis — the company also manufactures a few excellent entry-level Semi-automatic machines, such as the Aroma and Via Venezia.
