I'm considering buying the Mazzer Super Jolly for my coffee shop, but am wondering about the timer mechanism. Do you have to use the timer or can you control when the machine stops grinding manually?

The machine can be stopped manually by turning the timer knob counter-clockwise to off. The timer is good in that it prevents the grinder from continuing to run for long periods of time unobserved.

I have an SJ in my kitchen at home and you can manually turn the dial back to off....really helpful as I just grind a double shots worth at a time!

You can just turn the timer on and then of again if you want it to stop before the timer is done. I do it all of the time.

- Clean burrs on a weekly to bi-weekly basis, either with a cleaning brush or a burr grinder-specific cleaning product such as Grindz.
