Jeff J asked: I also have an Evoluzione that I wish to plumb in. After several trips to the Home Depot, I realized that the threads are different. The product description states that this is a 1/8" adapter. Correct me if Im wrong, but isn't the water line 1/4"? Feb 2, 2014

Jeff J: Thanks everyone for you answers/comments!

I actually had my machine plumbed perfectly a week ago. I purchased a Mavea water filter/softener to protect my Giotto and discovered the water it produced was delicious. My dog even prefers it to the the hard water in my city! I am now tee-ing off this line to install a drinking water faucet.

For people visiting the forum with the same issue, this can save you a lot of time (& frustration!)

The problem we are faced with is that we need to convert the thread from BSPT (British Standard Pipe Thread) to NPT (National Pipe Thread).

I found a company with the solution (and stock). I dont think I am allowed to attach a link, but the company is called Omega Dot CA

Eileen: thanks for the tip RE: water pressure!
Christian: I agree. I have watched so many SCG youtube vids that Gail feels like a childhood friend! Gail?…
Ron: I hope you get over the procrastination. One of the main reasons I purchased the Giotto was to plumb it in and I have never had any regrets! Check out the Mavea Purity C50. It is a really compact unit and works amazing!

Eileen S: This is the adaptor that you need to convert the 1/8" European thread to a 1/4" line. I tried all sorts of plumbing configurations for my Evo V2 and nothing felt safe. I bought this part and it adapted the European plumbing to the North American standard perfectly. It's unconscionable that Rocket sells their machines in the North American market without including this inexpensive part. You can rack up hundreds of dollars in plumbing costs trying to solve this problem. Also, make sure you check your water pressure. I live in a high-rise and my water pressure would have ruined my Evo without the pressure regulator I added. Feb 3, 2014

Christian R: I had the same issue. This is the incorrect product and I'm not sure why SCG continues to sell it. SCG?? Obviously, they have never plumbed in a Rocket.

To get correct adapter for the braided hose that came with your Rocket Evo, you'll need to take that hose to a speciality hardware store. They will be able to provide you with the correct adapter. Home Depot and Lows do not sell it. Good luck.

Ron S: Unfortunately, I still haven't plumbed my adapter due to a technical problem with installing a filter (limited space) between the water outlet and the line to the Evoluzione. I'm still manually filling the reservoir from the fridge filtered water spout. Feb 3, 2014

A shopper asked: I have an evoluzione v2, will this fit? Sep 24, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Andrew S: Yes, it converts to standard American. Just screw it onto the end of the included metric hose or directly on the back of the machine and attach a standard American ice machine vinyl flexible hose (1/4") attach to an inline water filter (Home Depot ) and then to your faucet. Make sure to use Teflon tape!!! Sep 25, 2013

Eileen S: Assuming this is the same adapter from Seattle Coffee Gear, yes it fit and was the only solution to plumbing in my Evo v2. I wasted a lot of money trying to make other fittings work. It's VERY frustrating that Rocket doesn't solve this for their North American customers. Sep 25, 2013

Heinz S: I can't say for sure, because I don't have the v2, but very likely yes. If the fitting on the hose that came with your machine *almost* fits onto a male 1/8" NPT fitting, then this is the right part. Sep 26, 2013

Ron S: Yes, it fits. However, I have not finished my water connection due to technical problems (and procrastination). Oct 3, 2013
