A shopper asked: I can not even add milk to the lowest line because it spills over during the frothing process. I noticed that it even spilt over in the video. Isn't this indicative of a design flaw? Nov 26, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (1) No (0)
Julie S: I've had the frother and steamer for a year now and have never had an overflow problem. I use cold 2% milk, and fill to the first line, which corresponds to the frother whisk not the hot milk whisk. The instruction booklet is quite clear and easy to use. The Aeroccino itself is usually room temperature. I'm always amazed at the amount and density of the foam produced, but have never had an overflow problem. Nov 26, 2013
Reply to Julie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Carole D: I have only had this happen if I put just a little more milk in beyond the line. To prevent this from occurring I stop pouring milk when it reaches the top of the spinner. It is a fine line of what is too much or two little. You might want to make sure your spinner is sitting on the base correctly.
I love this machine & use it every day for over a year now without any problems. I hope this is helpfull.

Susan M: I occasionally have a spill and I am fairly careful with the amount of milk so I think the type of milk and the consistency of each individual container of milk may have something to do with the spill. Regardless, I love my frother so much I go with the flow and afterall what's the big deal about a little spill once in a while. Nov 26, 2013
Reply to Susan Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeremy H: I only had that problem when I filled it just over the line. If you fill it just under the line so you can still see the line you shouldn't have any problems. I use ours everyday and never have any spills. I think its a great little device for making a great froth. Nov 26, 2013
Reply to Jeremy Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Bill B: I found if you fill above the wire mesh it will froth over so I do not fill any further. The colder the milk, the finer the froth. Yes, it is misleading to fill to the indented line. Nov 26, 2013
Reply to Bill Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Jorge P: I fill it just above the "spinner" wire where you can still see the black top of the spinner. Produces plenty of froth for 6 or more cups and does not spill. 1% milk works best Nov 26, 2013
Reply to Jorge Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Lynda G: I have never had this problem. Are you sure that you are matching the correct gizmo with the correct line? You must keep to the lower line if you are using the milk frother. Nov 26, 2013
Reply to Lynda Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Amie L: We use ours daily and have only had a problem twice, when we filled to the paddle line, not the max fill line. We LOVE this frother. Dec 2, 2013

Laurie W: Your machIne either has a flaw or you don't have the little attachment in all the way. Mine never does this. Hope that helps Nov 26, 2013

A shopper asked: What kind of milk should be used in the frother ? Jan 1, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Bevin B: Any kind of milk can be used in the frother but the less fat the milk has in it, the more foam/froth will be produced. I used fat free milk and it results in about 1/2 hot milk and 1/2 froth - perfect for a latte and delicious! Jan 4, 2013
Reply to Bevin Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Amy C: We have used low fat milk, nonfat milk, and soy milk. They all worked great--I don't think there's any constraint on what type of milk can be used. Jan 4, 2013
Reply to Amy Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Sue B: You can use any type of milk. I use 1/2 n 1/2 in mine. You will get better foam when there is less fat in the milk. Jan 7, 2013

jennifermaurice asked: How do I steam the milk without froth please? May 2, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Doug N: We love our Nespresso frother steamer. I have found that non fat milk makes more froth than 1% or 2% even when I use the steamer tip and not the round frothing ring. If I really don't want ANY froth then I use the non frother tip and I hold a spoon at the lip of the pitcher to just allow the steamed milk to come through to my coffee. May 4, 2013
Reply to Doug Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
mitchell s: To heat without frothing use the alternate stirrer (the one without the curled wire) that is normally stored under the lid. For heated milk I think you have only two options--frothed or not frothed--depending on which stirrer you use. I wouldn't say either is really steamed since no water vapor is involved. May 2, 2013
Reply to mitchell Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
sophie d: Take off the frother--the spring-like gizmo on the bottom of the container; it is magnetically attached--and press the button once. You can replace the spring-like frother with the simple stir attachment (which should be on the under part of the lid) to get more even heating with minimum froth. May 2, 2013
Reply to sophie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Laura C: I love the froth so it took me a minute to think about it. But here's what I think. Take the little magnetic coil out of the bottom, then it can't spin and aerate the milk. You should get perfectly steamed milk. Buon appetito! May 2, 2013
Reply to Laura Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Julie P: One of the small whisk attachments steams with froth. The other steams with minimal froth. The one you want does not have the mini spiral wire ring on outside. May 3, 2013
Reply to Julie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Arnie G: You should have two beaters. The one that looks like a small round net will froth the milk. The other one, a small black plastic tool, will steam the milk. May 2, 2013
Reply to Arnie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Jeremy H: I just change the whisk attachment from the spring frothing whisk to the plastic whisk that is attached on the lid. Very easy to switch. May 2, 2013

William S: There are two attachments the wire one froths and the other one is used to circulate the milk for heating without frothing it. May 3, 2013

JoAnne C asked: Have you ever added chocolate powder or syrup (or any flavors) to the nespresso machine prior to frothing? My kids want to use it to make hot chocolate. If so, how did it work out? Dec 30, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Amie L: We ALWAYS put maple syrup in with the milk to make a maple latte (maple syrup to the middle-top of the paddle, fill the remainder with milk), YUMMY. I have never put chocolate in; I froth the milk then pour that into the hot chocolate mix instead of hot water.
We have tried egg nog, to make an egg nog latte - not a good result!! It tends to cook the egg.
Dec 30, 2013
Reply to Amie Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Jorge P: I have not. I would not recommend using anything but milk, perhaps using low fat chocolate milk would do the trick. I assume all you want is flavored froth. Dec 30, 2013
Reply to Jorge Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Marcella R: I have not added things to the milk. I have used soy eggnog which does not always froth. I have presume it is because other things are added to the milk. Dec 31, 2013
Reply to Marcella Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Sonya R: I wouldn't add powder, since it would clog the machinery. We used egg nog in it all holiday season though and that worked great! Dec 30, 2013

JoAnne C: Do you use chocolate powder (like Nestles) or chocolate syrup (like hersheys)? Do you premix the milk and chocolate or let the machine mix it while it frothes? The hot chocolate drinkers in our house are triplets! Gotta love those multiples!! Dec 30, 2013
A shopper asked: I have used both the attachments and the milk does not froth. As I misplaced my copy of the directions I am not sure if I am doing it correctly to get froth and what do I do to get froth? Thanks Apr 23, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Leilani B: Make sure the attachments are placed on the post inside the Aeroccino, but not too tightly. It must be able to spin to produce the frothing. Sometimes if you push it down too low it prevents it from spinning. Otherwise my experience has been that it's pretty foolproof. The only other heads up i would pass on it to clean the inside after every cycle. If milk remains on the unit and gets burned/scorched it will shorten the life of the machine. Apr 24, 2012
Reply to Leilani Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
kathryn a: Of course, there's only one attachment meant to make froth - the one that looks like a curled spring. Be sure it's on the nipple in bottom of container when you start. Machine doesn't foam if milk is even starting to go off and it doesn't foam if you try non homogenized milk. It makes great thick foam. If it still doesn't work, call the company and get a replacement. Good luck, Kathryn May 1, 2012

Cris J: There are two whisks -- a double ringed one for frothing, and a single ringed one for just hot milk. For frothing, use the double ringed whisk, fill the pitcher to the indicated level, and press the button to start. For hot preparations, press button briefly; for cold milk froth, keep button pressed for approximately two seconds. Apr 24, 2012
Reply to Cris Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Matt H: The attachment must be fitting over the nob in the bottom of the areoccino. If not it will not produce froth. Other than that if it does not work I would double check your outlet it is plugged into. Hope this helps. Apr 24, 2012
Reply to Matt Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
Stephen S: I had a similar problem. I contacted customer service at Nespresso and they first replaced the whisks and when that didn't work, they sent a new machine. I fit into their warranty period. Apr 27, 2012

A shopper asked: What is the capacity for frothing vs steaming? Feb 22, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Teri KStaff: If you are frothing the milk, the maximum capacity of this Nespresso Aeroccino is 130ml (4.4 ounces). If you are just heating, then the capacity is 250ml (8.5 ounces). Feb 24, 2014

A shopper asked: Today was the second time I used the frother. The first time it worked great; however, today it will not froth the milk (I am using the right wisk and the milk is fresh)...any ideas as to what I should do. The machine is working, I can see the frother moving just as I did the first time, it also took about as long to complete the process, but no froth? May 5, 2012
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Kaylie KStaff: Make sure you are using the double-ringed whisk for frothing. The attachment should be placed securely on the post inside the Aeroccino, but not too tightly (it must be able to spin to produce froth and pushing it down too low can prevent it from spinning).

If you are still having issues with it not functioning properly and you have purchased it within the last year, I encourage you to contact Nespresso at 800-562-1465.

Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (1)
Kaylie KStaff: Yes, the Nespresso Aeroccino automatic milk frother and steamer will froth and heat the milk at the same time. The frothed milk it produces comes out at around 140 degrees F. Feb 17, 2012

This pathetic machine barely warmed the milk and created no substantial foam. There were a few anemic bubbles on top of the tepid milk but nothing that would meet even the loosest definition of "foam." My $20 Aerolatte does a much better job.

We have had our frother for just under eighteen months and it has stopped working. Love the convenience and quality but expected for the price it would lasted more than two years or longer. Have taken very good care of it, has never been immersed in water and cleaned after each use. I would love NESPRESSO to make one that the small electric bottom does not give out before the two years as the rest of it seems brand new still!

I have had this product for over a year and it gets lots of use! As one reviewer mentioned do not immerse it in water. Not a good idea even though the manufacturer says you can. I use whole milk, skim milk and 2% I get the better taste out of the higher fat milks than the skim milk. Skim milk will give you more foam but I prefer the better taste of whole milk. I have an espresso machine but I prefer using this frother for creating that foam for my cappuccinos. It is easier, less work and very consistent! I love it!

I bought this frother not even two years ago and have enjoyed using it. It recently broke and I brought it in the Nespresso shop to repair, only to be told that they cannot be repaired and that I would have to buy a new one. I expect an appliance at this price point to at least make it past the two year mark.

My frother is 18 mos. old & still works great. It is quiet, quick and even heats up. I make a point of NOT immersing it in water when I clean it & it's had no issues. The only thing that bothers me is that after your pour the froth, some of it always runs down the side of the frothing container & I need to wipe it with a sponge immediately. Other than that, I highly recommend it.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Quiet, Easy To Clean, Quick Brewing, Great Taste

This great product deserves a design award. It's simple and elegant. There are two frothing attachments. One of them creates perfectly steamed milk for a latte. The other one creates oodles of foam for a cappuccino. It's quiet and fast; super easy to clean. I was having trouble with the foaming nozzle on my espresso machine flying off so I bought this. Wish I bought it months ago; it would have saved me a lot of frustration. The milk is the perfect temperature; no scalding. Love it and worth the price!

Great design, Easy To Use, Easy To Clean, Quiet

Cons:

I have a Technovorm Moccamaster which makes great drip coffee and now I can add foam from my Aerocinno and have pretty close to a cappucinno! The froth option is also great for making an individual serving of hot chocolate.
It is amazingly quiet and totally effortless. At about $100 it is an indulgence but certainly 20 times better than the little electric whisks or plungers that are the alternatives. I love it plus it seems very sturdy.

I don't drink coffee but I sure do drink milk- in all of its forms and variations. I have bought many steamers and frothers and ended up throwing them all away. This machine makes The Best Foam - silky and smooth - and it is all you will ever need. Reliable and easy to clean. You will be tempted to fill past the indicated mark because it is so low in the container. Don't - I know you will anyway:) - because that is how much silky volume this machine will add to your milk. I like a lot of foam so the container only makes enough for my size one serving. In fact that is the only complaint(perhaps too strong a word) I have about this machine - that it is single serving only. I have also given this as a gift to die hard coffee drinkers who agree that it is indeed, the cat's meow of milk foam.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Easy To Clean

Cons:
Single Serving Only

We gave up on our Gaggia's steam wand, and replaced it with this. Used every morning at least twice. Easy to do some half & half, quickly rinse it out in the sink, then do some lactaid, without having to clean all those little parts of our Gaggia's steam wand. Because the stirring or whipping parts of this thing are held in place with a magnetic field, there aren't any little seals or connections for milk to hide, so it really gets completely clean every time without any hard work. The magnetic way that the attachments "float" so that they don't make contact with the machine at all, means that there is absolutely no noise. You could run this thing on a light sleeper's pillow without waking them. simple to plug in, pour in milk, push the only button, wait a minute, pour into coffee.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Foolproof, Easy To Clean

Excellent review and video by the ladies at SeattleCoffeeGear! I just want to point out that Nespresso capsules actually are environmentally friendly - the capsules are 100% aluminum and are completely recycleable unlike many pod based systems which use plastic. As stated in the review, even if you don't like the idea of being tied to capsules, the Aeroccino+ milk frother is an awesome device which can be purchased separately and would be a great add-on to any system. I would say the only drawback to the Aeroccino+ is that you don't get that loud steaming sound that everyone associates with frothing.A few other things I'd like to mention: Nespresso releases special coffee blends each year, often in celebration of a specific coffee growing region of the world. They are only available for a limited time and are produced in limited quantities - when they are gone, they are gone.Capsules can be ordered 24/7 (0nline or over the phone)[...] Like the ladies at SeattleCoffeeGear, the Nespresso people are a class act - they stand behind their products and will go the extra mile to make you happy. I would recommend Nespresso products to anyone.

This is the greatest coffee accessory I've bought lately. It is one-touch with great froth - much easier than the steam wand on my espresso maker. I now froth the milk with this frother and only use the espresso machine for espresso. Love it!

Pros:
Easy To Use, Easy To Clean

I absolutely love this machine.[...] Great froth, quick, and good results -- hot or cold. The only reason I did not give it five stars is the capacity and attachments, I wish it could froth just a little bit more milk for when I have guests. And, those two small magnetic attachments are a little hard to keep track of when cleaning the machine and I wonder how durable the frothing attachment is. I wish it came with a backup set.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Great Taste

Yes you can spend more.
Yes you can have a fancier more complex espresso maker.
Yes you can spend money on an expensive burr grinder.

I am in love with this little machine. It's fast, it's silent, it's ridiculously easy to clean, and the foam it produces is so velvety it's worth drinking (eating with a spoon? and a little grated chocolate?) on its own. I use it every day--the first milk frothing device I've ever tried that I've been willing to continue using.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Fast, Quiet, Easy To Clean

While I woud enjoy it, I don't take time to use this daily. That might take away from it's being so special! For us, this is a weekend treat when we have time to pause and enjoy the coffee/froth more fully. I would recommend this without reservation.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Froths great, Easy To Clean, Heats milk quickly

I did a lot research before I bought this combination. I received the best price from Seattle Coffee Gear and I live in Florida! I absolutely love it! I have a small kitchen, and it fits perfectly on my countertop. Rugged construction and great fit and finish. Also, it's made in Switzerland, not China. I recommend it highly.

Pros:
Quick Brewing, Easy To Use, Easy To Clean, Great Taste

Cons:
Small Water Container

this is pretty close to a perfect product. fantastic, thoughtful design that works perfectly every time. the main thing to consider when deciding whether to buy this product is whether you want frothed milk as opposed to steamed milk. the taste is quite different. if you are used to coffeehouse lattes, this will NOT create milk with that flavour. However, the shaving-lather milk foam it does create is perfect for cappuccinos.

Pros:
Great design, Easy To Use, Very easy to clean

Cons:
Small Water Container

Whipped & Frothed: happiness forever?

Every once in awhile, there comes along a product that is perfect in design and execution. The Aeroccino Plus is such a thing. Just picking it up and you can FEEL its solid construction. It's really simple to use: choose your beater - either the spring circle for lots of frothy milk, or the 2 bladed gizmo for lattes. Slip it on the nub in the bottom, fill the container with milk up to the line specified on the side, press the button and go do something else for about 25seconds. I always watch it do its magic though - I'm entranced. And magic it is. The beater is spun, probably using the same principle that scientists use to mix stuff in their glassware in the lab when they drop a magnet in the bottom and another magnet in the base whirls around, spinning the magnet in the container. Everything gets mixed. In the Aeroccino's case though, the spring or blades do other things to the milk. The first aerates it and builds the froth, the second does the same but with less froth.
Pressing the button to start the magic also starts the heater so the milk is warm when done. Press and hold for 3 seconds and just the mixing happens, no heat, so you can have frothy cold milk.

This machine is SO EASY to use and SO WELL MADE that I expect I will have to include it in my will. It gets used several times a day and would be more if only I could think of other things to use frothed milk for. Oh, I also use heated, frothed milk on my morning oatmeal!

Pros:
Easy To Use, Easy To Clean, Great Taste

Cons:
