Quick Overview
Since the first generation of machines, Rancilio has switched back to a single-hole steam tip, but if you have one of these first iterations and wish your frothing was a bit better, you might want to upgrade to this single-hole steam tip.
Rancilio's Silvia Version 3 was released in early 2009 with a standard three-hole steam tip. However, the company found that in the U.S. market, the electricity differences (110V versus 220V) resulted in sub-par frothing performance.
Since the first generation of machines, Rancilio has switched back to a single-hole steam tip, but if you have one of these first iterations and wish your frothing was a bit better, you might want to upgrade to this single-hole steam tip.

Makes Great Foam
Review by Dave -
Quality Value Price I had tried the 3 hole steam tip with poor results. Some reviews claimed it was great, but I never was able to create a good swirl. The single tip, however, made great foam and I was able to create a strong vortex. I never could master latte art with this, but the smooth silky texture I love was consistently created using the single tip steamer.
Pros:
Easy To Use
