The Refurbished Saeco Incanto Deluxe is the latest in a long line of popular fully automatic espresso and coffee centers. Featuring a durable steel case and a classic mix of Saeco's most reliable and time-tested components, the Incanto Deluxe fares well against all competition. Outfitted with a stainless-steel boiler with Rapid Steam technology, you can prepare drinks in quick succession without downtime. Two programmable beverage buttons on the Incanto Deluxe store the specs of your favorite drink and allow you to re-create it whenever you're getting a craving. The bypass doser, a valuable and often overlooked feature, allows you to use your pre-ground decaf for the evenings or while entertaining.

There may be variations with the certified refurbished model in features and included items.

Features & Functionality of the Saeco Incanto Deluxe

  • Controls: The Saeco Incanto Deluxe features common sense controls. Choose the volume of coffee and its strength, and let the machine do the rest. Adjust the ground coffee from six to nine grams to change the strength of the coffee.
  • Saeco Brewing System (SBS): Turn the knob to adjust the intensity of your drink, from Americano to ristretto.
  • Programming: Press the brew button once for a single espresso or coffee. Pushing the brew button twice quickly will put a double shot of espresso or coffee in your cup.
  • Hot Water Dispenser and Rapid-Steam Technology Steam Wand: Turn the steam knob and have instant steam you want for cappuccinos or lattes. If you need instant hot water for making tea, hot cocoa, or Americanos, the hot water feature is available at the press of a button.
  • Bipass Doser: You can use pre-ground coffee (up to one tablespoon per shot), easily switching between caffeinated and decaffeinated coffees.
  • Conical Burr Grinder: The Incanto's conical burr grinders are made up of a cone shaped grinding wheel that turns slow enough to not burn the coffee beans, a problem with low cost grinders. This durable construction is consistent with top quality machines and little or no maintenance or service is needed.
  • 68 ounce Water Tank: The water reservoir can easily be refilled while it is still on the machine or by removing it and filling it at the kitchen tap.
  • Stainless-Steel Boiler: A durable 1200-watt stainless-steel boiler provides for continuous use or a lot of servings over a short time period.
  • Operational Lights and Indicators: The machine uses a system of lights and indicators to help you monitor the brewing process and signal when the machine needs to be re-supplied with water or coffee beans and when it needs to be cleaned.
Pros
  • Bipass Doser - Use this feature to bypass the grinder with your pre-ground coffee to brew decaf in the evenings or a special roast.
  • Programmable - Two programmable brew buttons conveniently store your strength and volume settings.
  • Saeco Brewing System (SBS) - This system is ideal to adjust the intensity of your drink, from Americanos to ristrettos.
Cons
  • Cup Clearance - The amount of room for your cup and available frothing clearance are lacking compared to most current models.

Kelly asked: Looks like you need some pretty short cups to use this machine...How much clearance on this machine? I'm wondering if I would need to buy new cups. Sep 17, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Loreto S: Hello Kelly,
It only appears to be short, because the two dispensing nozzles are lowered all the way down in the picture. Being that the two dispensing nozzles are adjustable, some people opt to lower them for espresso cups and raise them for regular /large American coffee mugs. You should have not issues with existing cups.

So, in addition, I can tell you that this machine is one of the single best investments I've made. We Luv it! I actually have two now, one for home and the other for my office. Since my first unit, my brother, mom & best fried have all gotten this same unit. Great machine at a steal of a price!
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Sebas

james e m: Actually any cup will work. The picture is showing the pouring spouts in the down position. That spout part slides up and down. A full size coffee cup (normal size cup) needs to be tilted a bit to slide under to fill and a slight tilt to remove so you can't fill a standard size cup to the brim or you have a little bit of a mess when you tilt to remove the cup.
That pouring spout can be entirely removed then a single stream of coffee comes out.

Its really a great machine, my refurb was like it was brand new..

Chris J: We use what I consider to be normal sized mugs. The dual silver nozzles are adjustable and can be retracted to leave 3.5"-3.75" clearance (they are in what looks to be the most extended position in the picture). Also, the entire dual dispensing nozzle can be removed if you're just making one cup, leaving room for even the largest mugs (about 6" clearance). We love our refurbished Saeco... awesome buy. Ted E: You are right. Short cups would be the easiest but I just move the dispenser back or take it off completely and let it fill the larger cups without any difficulty. So far I am extremely happy with the machine and the cups of coffee produced. It makes my wife refuse to go to Starbu--s or Dutc- bro--. Sep 18, 2013

Wilhelm W: The Saeco Incanto Deluxe has a dual spout that slides up and down
to accommodate all but the tallest cups.
Tall cups can be tipped to be placed and removed
if they are not completely full.
The spout can also be removed to allow very tall cups to be used.

Mike B: The two spigots are set at their lowest position in this photo. There is a button on top of the discharge assembly that allows the user to raise and lower the two spigots. The highest setting moves the spigots flush with the housing, about 3/4" higher than displayed here. Sep 21, 2013

Alberto F: Hey Kelly those two "spouts" move up/down to accommodate different size cups. You can even remove the double spout to have a single spout large cup. There's 3.5" clearance with the double-spout at its highest setting. Sep 18, 2013
Reply to Alberto Good answer? Yes (0) No (0)
MARK L: At first I thought this was true then adjusted the nozzles up and can now get a tall cup under and out with only a little. Tilting of the cup at the end on a large cup setting!
Great machine!

mason h: I'm guessing the folks at SCG will have some data on this for making sure the refurb units are heating correctly. No?

Thank you for the other answers, it's good know people are happy with the general functionality of the unit.

djdesignz asked: I just purchased this refurb and wanted to know what general or specific changes (Keeping in mind that each refurb may have had differing issues) were made to this item? Is there a video (Or can you make a video) that kinda details some of the changes made to this refurb... Maybe do one for each refurb done at SCG!? Well... Just maybe for the ones you have a significant amount of stock of! ;) Jan 10, 2014

Teri KStaff: I will pass along that feedback to marketing, but as you mentioned machines are often refurbished for different reasons. There are sometimes issues within the machine that require repair, but other times the machine may just have been returned because of buyers remorse, and there would not actually be anything wrong with the unit. We do refurbish quite a few machines, but are always making new videos, and so we might consider this type of video in the future. Thanks for your input! Jan 10, 2014

djdesignz: Thanks Teri! I just thought I'd ask since in one of the video's they say SCG received a pallet of these and I just thought there was a "common" issue... thanks again! Jan 11, 2014

Teri KStaff: No problem! We are an authorized refurbish center for Saeco, and so we buy lots of their returned units and then ready them for sale. Glad to help clarify! Jan 11, 2014
A shopper asked: What is the cup clearance when the double spout is removed? Will a normal height travel mug fit in this configuration? Thanks, Ron Apr 6, 2014
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Teri KStaff: With the spouts removed, the cup clearance measures up to 6 inches. You can fit a standard 12oz travel mug however it is a tight fit. I tested our MiiR Travel Tumbler and it just barely fit. Apr 6, 2014

A shopper asked: Dear all,

How does this machine compare to the Vienna Plus or the Odea Go?

Thank you
Jun 18, 2013
Answer this · Send to friends Good question? Yes (0) No (0)
Teri KStaff: The Incanto Deluxe is a step up from both the Vienna or the Odea, as neither of these machines has the bipass doser and programmability that the Incanto has. Otherwise, the maintenance and flavor will be the same. The Incanto also allows you to adjust the aroma to one of three levels, and has those three programmable buttons on the front for you to save your favorite shot, short coffee, and long coffee volumes and strength. Hope this helps! Jun 19, 2013

I have had a vienna for several years. had 7 friends purchase vienna's from SCG and one of them upgraded to a nicer machine.
The people at SCG have been great to work with on all the purchases. So there was no doubt when my old vienna quick working it was time to call SCG to get something better. They were so helpful in discussing with me what was important. And which models to avoid. The Incanto is awesome. Bypass doser for evening decaf is great! cup warmer is handy, the SBS was a plus I did not think i would care about but i really appreciate it. Max crema is great. the ability to use a large cup with the "fangs" off = no more spills! The large water tank is helpful. The coffee is hotter as well. A happy Incanto/SCG customer who entertains frequently.

I purchased the refurb model after a friend of mine had purchased a refurb and has had no issues with it for years. My first unit did have an issue where the clock would not keep up with the time, it would get behind 4-5 hours a day. Seattle coffee swapped out the unit free of charge, however the only nusance was they wouldn't release the replacement unit until I dropped the defective one off at UPS. Since it was still making coffee I would have liked to have the replacement unit shipped and I could have returned the defective unit when the other arrived. I was already addicted to the machine so I didn't want to have to revert back to a keurig in the interim. The replacement unit has been working without any issues for a couple of weeks.

Love the machine.

We purchased this machine in May 2013 and to date have brewed over 1200 cups. We use both the built in grinder and the bypass doser on a regular basis and have been very happy with either method. Occasionally it will dump the coffee with the bypass doser but that could be user error. Only once did we have an issue with the brew group getting stuck and that turned out to be a fairly easy fix. I would totally recommend this machine to anyone and would for sure buy it again!

I purchased my refurbished Incanto in early 2011. the first one was DOA, and after replacing the steam valve didn't work it was switched out at no charge. The second one worked fine. It's been in twice, once for a leak when a gasket on the steam hose needed replacement, and once when the steam valve assembly needed replacement -- so the warranty more than paid for itself.

When it's working, which is 98% of the time, it makes great coffee with no leaks and minimal grounds spreading around the brew-group. This is my third Saeco; I started w/ a Vienna, then bought an Incanto Sirius that was always breaking down, so I decided to go this route and have never regretted it. I'm tempted to put another in the closet for when this one wears out.

I searched for months and months, before settling on this machine. I was so excited when it came. I set it up and was ready to make coffee, because I had not had a cup in 2 weeks becuase my machine had broke. Problems right out of the gate, it kept grinding the beans and dumping them. I called the crew at Seattle and they helped adjust the grind and it improved some. But the feeder on the grinder is a bad design so you don't get enough beans in the grinder and it dumps them out without brewing them. For every 2lb bag of beans I get 16 oz dumped out that are never brewed. How do I know this i dump the container after every brew so I could keep up with it. It is very frustrating. The coffee it makes is great when it will brew , but the waste of the machine is way over the top. I will order from the gang at Seattle when I need a new one, but it will not be this machine.

We are thrilled with our re-furbished Saeco Incanto Deluxe. It arrived looking brand-spanking new! It makes wonderful coffee. We use only distilled water because we don't want to be bothered with descaling. This is our first automatic espresso maker and we love the convenience of having a to-go cup instantly as we are leaving for the daily grind of the less appealing variety.

This is our third Saeco and we continue to be very happy with this espresso machine. We make thousands of cups per year and they all taste great, making this extremely cost effective. The weak link might be the steamer wand (we have had 2 that leak) but I whisk my cream separately and that takes care of that issue. Love this machine!

Ok, upon arrival, then unpacking I had my "Super Automatic", I almost wet my leg. I plugged it in and waited. I sat there for over an hour. Then I read a few pages from the book. I had to add water and some beans (don't use navy). After placing my cup under the spout I sat waiting for that first coffee. My mouth was salivating with anticipation, nothing, I read some more. What was wrong with this thing? This was suppose to be a "Super Automatic" !! Well about that time my wife got home from shopping and shortly there after we had fresh brewed coffee. That night we had some of the best coffee. Now it gets to be a problem, my wife was off to work leaving me alone with the Saeco. There was my cup under the spout but no product. Oh, I read some more and to my discus I had to push the button. I had another and a message to add more water and beans. I was so angry I almost called 911. I thought this thing was a "Super Automatic"", well after some bad words and adding what it needed I had to empty the drip tray, again this thing is a "Super Automatic". Shouldn't this thing do such barbaric things? Well with that, if ever I buy another car it better go to the gas station by itself.

This is a spoof written for those people that have to do these mid-evil tasks. Shut up and enjoy the great coffee. What I have figured out is, if you get a good [coffee], say PTL and if not , say bad words. So far after 10 weeks and 591 cups all is well, Bozo

Machine is great, I think mine must have been a display model as it only had 7 cups on it. Makes fantastic Coffee. Water holder is small and is constantly needing refilled. Has a few random quirks such as randomly says dredger drawer is full even if it's not. Sometimes when filling with a scoop of pre-ground decaf in the evenings it simply dumps the grinds into the dredger. Wish it would heat the water more. Can't make the coffee as hot as I would like but does a sufficient job. So far so good, I would recommend as the coffee tastes substantially better than a drip pot.

I am thrilled to have a fully automatic Saeco. Prior to this machine I had a Saeco Via Venito that I used daily for almost ten years. The new machine was easy to program and I am particularly impressed with how quickly it warms up and is ready to brew. But! After every brew there is a good amount of dry ground coffee in the drip tray and along the right side of the brew unit.....roughly a rounded teaspoon. As of yet, I've not found a solution for this. I've had one failed brew with totally dry coffee in the dregs box and one dregs box "Empty" error. There probably is a solution for the excess coffee grounds issue and I haven't given up trying to find it. If I can get these issues corrected I'm going to be in love with the Saeco Incanto!

Received my Saeco Incanto about 2 months ago it works exactly as advertised. Although refurbished it looked brand new, sparkling in every detail.

This is my second Saeco machine, the first was a Vienna Deluxe that served me well for 6 or 8 years. Actually my Vienna was still working when I decided to upgrade to this model and I'm happy I did so.

This time I purchased an additional 2 year extended warranty policy. My Vienna failed twice in the 6 to 8 years, each failure costing more than I payed for the 2 year extension so I choose not to be a gambler.

Thus far I have been quite pleased with Seattle Coffee Gear, I would recommend them and this Saeco Incanto machine.

Bought this machine new from another vendor for nearly twice what I paid for this one. Refurbished is the way to go. This machine had 1102 cups on the cup counter when received and has been performing well in a work environment with approximately 6 or 7 daily users (including weekends and night shifts). I bought my first Saeco Incanto Deluxe after returning from a trip to Europe. Having been spoiled with the fantastic coffee there I was willing to pay almost any price to have it here. The Saeco does it. My original machine is at around 2500 cups on the counter with no problems so far. The refurbished machine from seattlecoffeegear was in nearly like-new condition when received. I did notice that the bean hopper moves a little bit while grinding which I have not seen with my other machine. It has not caused any problems, though. I was a little surprised that the brew unit was not lubricated out of the box. Luckily I noticed that and lubed it up before the first use with the grease that was kindly included with the machine. All in all, highly recommended!

Great design, poor quality. I think there is a programming issue with the doser. Weak coffee even at the strong setting. The dregs are slurry because not enough grounds come out. This appears to be a common issue with this machine. And yes I cleaned out the grinder and chutes. I fixed the core problem though without having to create a new EPROM! The dose is controlled by how long the grinder runs. There are two magnets in the grinder sprocket that communicates to a sensor, which in turn tells its brain to run or not run. The two magnets are polar opposite on the sprocket. I drilled out one of the magnets - voila! Now we have good size pucks in the dregs box and excellent strong coffee.

We've had a Saeco Incanto Rondo for >6 years and its worked very well -- no problems. Decided to get this newer model because (1) we can't believe the old machine will go on forever -- it's already done more than 13,000 cups and (2) we wanted a bypass feature for decaf late in the day. So far so good. The digital menu is NOT intuitive but I think we've got most settings the way we want them. This refurb unit looks great; however it did not include (as we were warned) a filter, brush, and other accessories included with new machines. But for the price -- $399 + $39 for 1-year extension on the 1 year warranty -- this machine cost $200 less than our previous one.

I swore I would never use a super auto, as the coffee from them was awful.

When we sold our drive thru espresso shop after 5 years, I purchased a semi auto for home. Seemed like a great idea except that my wife and I leave home early , and dealing with the semi-auto and the cleanup was a real pain. We reverted to buying coffee on the commute and that was kind of $$$.

Late last year, I picked up an old broken Saeco Italia and also a Talea fixed them up and started experimenting After 4 months I moved the old italia to my office and sold the Talea. I had decided to stick with Super Autos but I wanted one with a digital display. Cryptic warning lights are not so good, as I am not the sharpest individual at the "crack of dawn".

Purchased one of Seattle Coffee Gear's, Incanto Deluxes. This machine is perfect for us. You could never tell this was a refurb except for the fact the box is not original. Makes excellent coffee straight out of the box, tried 4 or 5 different coffee roasters. Well pleased.

Great Machine at a great price

Purchased this refurbished recently and love it. Works great, the espresso is wonderful and the steamer is plenty strong to make cappuccinos in no time. Love how automatic it is. The convenience of making a cup from ground coffee is great as well. Didn't think the feature worked at first but just had to get water to cycle through and then it worked fine.

Really haven't found any downside yet. We've been using it for about 2 weeks, have it on autotimer so it kicks on about 6am and off at 9:30am. Great feature as well! The wand for steaming milk could be a little longer but, meh, no big deal!

Excellent purchase Experience and Operation

My Brother had one of these machines last time we visited, and I was really impressed. After thinking it over for a couple weeks and missing the awesome brew we experienced, I decided we had to have one. Shopped around and talked to a lot of people, none of which seemed to know what they were talking about. I FINALLY called Seattle Coffee Gear and could immediately tell the knew the machine(s) inside out. I purchased the Refurbished model and have bee awakening to the awesome brew I was missing! Machine has more than lived up to my expectations! I also purchased the extended warranty just for peace of mind and knowledge and experience of the SCG crew.

I have had several of these machines. This one is one of the better ones & makes excellent coffee. I lived in Europe for 10 years and this coffee comes quite close.
On the negative side, this unit is noisy when it starts, but the biggest negative is that you can only pre-select 2 sizes. Other than that, you have to watch & hit the lighted button to get a smaller size than the 2 programmed ones. It can also be fussy about telling you the grounds box is full when it is not. Overall a very good and reliable unit. (I had another Saeco that made 44,000 cups!) I use only distilled water but it still tells me that it wants to be descaled once in a while, when it probably really doesn't.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Great Taste, Quick Brewing

Cons:
Noisy

Great machine & support from SCG

We upgraded from an inexpensive manual espresso machine to this about 3 months ago and I couldn't be happier with this machine. I was very nervous after reading all the negative reviews about this machine online. Now that I have one, I understand why so many people have had bad experiences with it - they did not have the benefit of the expert help at Seattle Coffee Gear. The Saeco manual is useless for troubleshooting so SCG's technical support is essential if you buy this machine. On the day it arrived, my machine had dreaded VENTILATE message that we couldn't turn off. [...] I later had a problem where only 1/4 of a shot of espresso came out and when I called, they immediately knew what was wrong and how to fix it (something never mentioned in the Saeco manual). [...] Everything on this machine has been perfect after we got those initial bugs worked out. It's so easy to use and it takes me 5 minutes to clean once a week. I get perfect crema on my espresso and it tastes 98% as good as the ones I get at the coffee shop using the professional grade machines. If you're trying to foam milk for 3 or more cappuccinos at once, then the wand might be a little on the short side but it's a minor problem. Bypass doser works great.Be sure the watch the videos on SCG's website about how to use this machine - their suggestions on warming the cup, pulling a blind shot to warm the brew group, how to clean, adjust the grind, foam milk, etc are really important.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Quick Brewing, Easy To Clean, Great Taste, Large Water Container

I needed a machine to make a couple of lattes in the morning before work. I decided to go the superautomatic route largely out of convenience (I've owned two semi-automatic machines previously). I know the cognoscenti tend to turn their noses up at superautomatic machines because they're viewed as incapable of pulling the ever elusive perfect shot and require zero barista skills, but I'm impressed with what this machine can do. It makes consistently very good shots with nice crema. Steam wand froths milk to 140 degrees in a flash. If you don't have time to "fuss" with a semi-automatic machine, the Incanto Deluxe is about as close to perfect as it gets IMHO. Super easy/fast to use (with the electronic display, programming isn't complicated). Just push a button and ... espresso!

Pros:
Great Taste, Easy To Use, Large Water Container, Quick Brewing

We bought this for our small office with 6 regular coffee drinkers (and former [...] customers). It performs well under regular use with each person drinking about two double-shots per day. It was super easy to program the 3 buttons for sizes, and it makes a "cafe longe" or Americano just as well as a short strong shot of espresso. Everyone LOVES this machine, and the quality of coffee is spectacular. People look forward to getting to work for their coffee, and [...] unanimously agree that the Incanto makes coffee as good or better than [...]. It also helps that we buy good organic espresso beans, better than you can get at most coffee shops. I'm also happy to say that nobody complains about the cleaning since it is so easy to do. Just a quick rinse in the sink and the parts clip back into place. My only complaint is that the machine does not warn when there is no coffee in the hopper, and it will continue to grind and brew as if there was something to brew. With the clear hopper it is easy to see it is out of coffee, as long as you are paying attention. Equally if not important to this being a great machine,[...]

Pros:
Easy To Use, Great Taste, Easy to program, Large Water Container, Easy To Clean

Cons:
No out of coffee warning
