Like it's cousin the Sowden SoftBrew Coffee Maker, the Sowden Penrose SoftBrew Tea Maker uses the same innovative stainless steel filter that traps and contains loose leaf tea from getting into your ideal cup. Steeping the full flavor of your favorite leaves, the Penrose allows loose leaf tea to float within the filter for a full extraction. Once you've reached your desired strength, the micro-filter allows you to remove the leaves easily.
The Penrose is made of porcelain and comes in 4 cup (.5 Liter/17 ounce) and 8 cup (1 Liter/34 ounce) sizes.
A Note About Coffee (and Tea!) & Cups
Let us break it down for you: Although 8 ounces equals a cup in the baking world, a US cup of coffee is measured at 6 ounces and a European cup of coffee is measured at 4.25 ounces. This is why we sometimes list ounces to paint a more accurate picture of capacity.
