Caring for your Technivorm Moccamaster Coffee Maker
For detailed care instructions, please refer to your machine's user manual. We recommend that you also incorporate the following into your cleaning routine:
- Descale every 2 - 3 months. We recommend using Dezcal or Cleancaf for descaling
- Clean the water tank and lid regularly
- Soap out the inside of the kettle and brew basket on a regular basis. Use Cleancaf if necessary to remove an coffee stains or residue.

Good Carafe but Fragile

Quality Value Price I have had the Technivorm for two years now and think it is a great product. However, I've had to replace the carafe twice because after some period of time (months) it doesn't keep the coffee hot for more than an hour or so. Before I ordered the most recent replacement I read some critiques on your website and one commenter said that he had put the carafe in the dishwasher and that had caused a microscopic break in the plastic base of the carafe which ruined the insulation. I realized that I had done that with the two carafes. If this is the cause I think the manufacturer should provide a warning to that effect.

Don't clean this carafe in a dishwasher

Quality Value Price If you dishwasher this carafe you may have to replace it as I did. Over-heating the carafe's plastic parts caused a very small undetectable crack that ruins the carafe's ability to retain heat.
