Crew Review: Capresso FrothTec

Capresso FrothTecIf texturing milk is not your jam or you want to easily whip up a batch of frothy hot cocoa at the touch of a button, a stand alone milk frother like the FrothTec from Capresso could be the answer to your prayers. With a glass carafe and dishwasher safe components (except the base, love!), it easily produces hot or cold frothed milk while you tend to other endeavors, like finally completing that needlepoint lighthouse you've been working on since 1996.

Watch as Gail takes us through the FrothTec's features and specs, then demonstrates whipping up a batch of dry cappuccino-quality foam.

hey, i'm wondering what the differences are between frothtec, frothpro and frothplus, besides the containers? since frothtec is newer does it work better?

      Hi Alva,

The main differences between the frothtec, froth pro and frothplus are the material. The frothtec has a bit of a sturdier feel to it as it is made out of class, the pitcher is larger than the ones on the other two models and it also seems to froth more silky too. With all of the models, you only have one spinner, so the frother on the Pro and the Plus makes a stiffer foam that dissipates pretty quickly, however the frothTec seems to make a foam that is a little better incorporated and doesn't disappear right away.

The other differences are consumer concerns over the material of each frother. The Pro is teflon, so it's easy to put in the dishwasher, but if it gets nicked, then there could be health concerns. The Plus is plastic and some people have concerns over plastic being heated. I hope that helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
