    SCGCoffee_Updated_MainBanner

    Your Coffee. Your Schedule.

Gone are the days of stale beans, empty cups and last minute coffee runs. Say hello to the new way to make coffee you love at home—SCG Subscriptions!

We launched SCG Subscriptions to bring you specialty roasted coffee delivered straight to your door. Choose from some of our favorite roasters and set your mailing frequency to fit your coffee consumption. With guaranteed freshness on your schedule and 5% savings on every order, the hardest decision you'll make is picking your coffee.

    What Coffees Are Subscribable?

Most of our coffees offered year-round and some seasonal selections are available for SCG's coffee subscriptions. Every eligible coffee will offer a red subscription button before checkout. Generally, coffees like single origins that are roasted for a short time will not be available for subscription—unless you sign up for Join The Club! Select the single origin option and the SCG Crew will pick three single origins to receive our latest favorites!

Bonus: We offer subscriptions on teas, syrups and cleaning supplies too!

    How Fresh Are The Beans?

We adhere to the roaster’s freshness policy for our beans. Each roaster sets their freshness date and your order will adhere to their guidelines. If you ever have a concern with your order, we’re happy to help!

    What's The Delivery Schedule?

The frequency we offer is weekly, bi-weekly, monthly or bi-monthly. You can set your first order to take place anytime from checkout or in the future. You can expect to receive your order from then on—with the exception of delays made by the courier, weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

    How To Sign Up

    Step 1. Get Started Here

Start at the seattlecoffeegear.com/subscriptions page to discover what coffee subscription is right for you!

What's The Difference Between One Or Two Bags?

    What Is Join the Club?

  • Seattle Coffee Gear Rewards: Get Rewarded For Drinking Coffee!

    Program Review

The Seattle Coffee Gear Rewards program is designed to reward coffee lovers like you with, you know, more coffee. Once you create an account, the savings are automatically stored in your SCG Rewards. We made it easy to see how much you’ll make by including the points earned under eligible products on the website. Rewards are earned with each purchase on eligible products after all the discounts (coupons, store credit, rewards, gift cards) and other deductions are applied.

We’re pretty open here at Seattle Coffee Gear, but you already knew that from our videos and blog. As with any Rewards Program, we have rules to keep it fair and keep all the caffeinated goodness flowing.

    Earn

    • You can earn and redeem points with each purchase
    • See estimated points that will be earned on product purchases before buying
    • Points are earned on the total purchase after discounts and deductions

    Redeem

    • Easily redeem points at checkout for maximum savings
    • Points will expire after 365 days from the date of earning
    • Gift cards expire after 90 days from issued date

    Point System

The minimum value of rewards points before a gift card is issued is currently 250 points or a $5 balance. Once you reach the minimum—that’s an easy feat to achieve in the 365 days—you can use your rewards to purchase all the caffeinated goodness you desire. If you’re wondering what 250 points look like in products, that’s about two months worth of coffee and some cleaning supplies—coffee friends, descale those machines for the freshest coffee! We swear by our (more than) gently used office Technivorm that when we clean it, the coffee’s just oh-so-good.

After 35 days, recent purchase points will go into your Rewards stash until $5 is reached. Ready points will be sent as a digital gift card to your email in increments of five. On orders that exceed the minimum $5 value, you’ll be issued one gift card with your balance, but in increments of five. For example, a rewards balance of $54.50 will send a gift card with a $50 value. The remaining $4.50 will remain in your Rewards until the minimum $5 balance or 250 points is met.

    Can points expire?

Points currently expire 365 days after the date they are earned. Issued gift cards expire 90 days after they are sent to you. We recommend saving support@seattlecoffeegear.com to your address book to ensure your gift cards are received in your inbox.

To start earning SCG Rewards, sign up for an account. Yep, that’s it! Once you sign up, Reward Points will automatically accrue with each purchase whether you’re in store or online—make sure you’re logged in to earn those points, though!

Or, on the off chance you don’t wish to participate in SCG Rewards, you can opt-out at the time you sign up for an account or contact our support time.

We’re all treats and no tricks here—we’ve included everything we think  you’ll need to know to take advantage of the sweet savings. However, if you’re so inclined, you can read up on it even more here. We want to honor our fellow coffee fiends by creating a rewards system that helps you save in the long run and satisfy that caffeine craving.

  • How To Guide: Ask a Question

    Ask a Question

You’ve probably spent hours reading through product reviews and prolonged stories just to discover the question you’re looking for wasn’t there. Enter: Ask a Question—our way of saying, “Hey, we know you’ve got burning questions best answered before you’ve made a purchase.” Ask a Question is an interactive community of machine owners and product experts answering questions using their real experience. If it goes unanswered, our Crew steps in with the best response—we’re coffee machine owners, too!

    Where To Find It

Under every product, we've included the "Ask a Question" tab. Click on the tab and you'll see all the questions and answers. To ask and answer questions, you can be anonymous or log in to your account.

    How This Works

    1. Type in your question. If there are matching questions in our Q&A database, we'll show them immediately.
    2. If there aren't any, submit a new question. You'll get fast answers from customers who really own the item(s) and from our product experts. (About half the time you'll get an answer in under two hours, depending on your question and the item you are asking about...)

Done! Now you can save time searching through the internet. If you need a place to start thinking of questions you'd want to ask, we've got you covered.

    Good Topics To Ask About

    • Which items will best meet your needs
    • What customers who own an item think of it
    • How to use, fix or take care of an item
    • Product information
    • General advice related to the types of products we sell
Screen Shot 2016-05-09 at 4.15.53 PM Here's a customer's answer to a question on the Saeco Xelsis Evo.

    Share Your Experience

As a proud new owner of a coffee maker, you're in the know. Make suggestions for newbies or share your early morning coffee routine. It's your time to shine and show you've got this—remember the pure satisfaction of knowing the answer in class and impressing all the kids and teacher. Yeah, it's something like that.

Now, you owners might be wondering how you'll know there's a new question to be answered. We'll shoot you an email and let you know when there's a new one. Or you can take a look under the Ask a Question tab and see if there's anything you can answer. If you don't know and you're thinking you got to know too, just click on the "I Have This Question Too," to let owners know. Our Crew can take on unanswered questions or provide other suggestions we know.

That's all there is to it! Check out how many questions and answers you or others have entered by clicking on their name. You might be surprised at how much you know—any excuse to call Mom and brag, right?

  • Saeco Pure Replaces The Odea!

Saeco PureIt is time for another hand off in the Saeco Espresso Machine line up! This time we say good-bye to the Odea while opening our arms to the Saeco Pure!

The Saeco Pure has larger capacities and faster warm up times all inside a design that is slimmer and lighter! Which is a long way to say, the Saeco Pure is an awesome new machine. One that anybody will enjoy.

Here are some of the stats of these two machines side by side:

    Saeco Pure Saeco Odea
    Width 8.5 inches 10.5 inches
    Depth 16.75 inches 15.5 inches
    Height 13 inches 14 inches
Bean Capacity 8.8 ounces 6.3 ounces
Reservior Capacity 60.8 ounces 51 ounces
    Warm Up Time 1:15 1:30

  • SCG In Portland: Saeco Machine Lineup

Saeco MachinesContinuing our trip to the Portland Seattle Coffee Gear store, Gail thought it would be helpful to show everyone the current Saeco Machine Lineup. There are a ton of options out there, each one better suited for a different home barista! So without further ado, the current Saeco machine line up:

The Xsmall is just that! With the smallest footprint in the lineup, this little soldier delivers the solid bean-to-cup functionality you would expect from Saeco. A great entry level machine for those with limited counter space but an unlimited thirst for espresso!

The Saeco Syntia gives you the ease of one-touch espresso but also the control of frothing your own milk using it's easy to master panarello wand. And let's not forget the ability to store your favorite drink preferences for easy replication!

Featuring an ergonomic case style, easy to use interface, and Saeco's integrated cleaning and descaling cycles, the Intelia couldn't be simpler to operate. Easy operation makes for delicious espresso anytime!

The Intuita is for those who like their coffee ritual simple. Select one of three dosage settings using the dial above the brew head, and push either the espresso or coffee button depending on your desired volume. It is that easy!

The Minuto Pure is for the espresso enthusiast. This machine brews at an ideal 15BAR pump pressure, producing a smooth shot of espresso (or lungo!) every time.

The Minuto manages to be a superautomatic espresso machine and coffee maker, without sacrificing anything for either option. A clever lever on the adjustable spout allows you to switch pressure settings to provide optimal extraction for both coffee (3 bar) and espresso (15 bar). Some call this a win win!

Hot and frothy lattes and cappuccinos with just a touch of a button. Need we say anymore? The Energica Focus will surprise you with it's efficient double boilers to reduce wait time between frothing and brewing.

With its automated milk frothing and programmability, the Exprelia Evo helps you make the perfect beverage every morning. Just hit one of the pre-programmed buttons, which can be customized to meet your specifications, and watch it go to work. It even cleans up after itself!

Program your favorite drink for one-touch capability or manually froth milk on the handy steam wand. With the Xelsis Evo, the choice is yours! Perfect your favorite drink and save the settings by creating your own user profile.

Continually improving the bean-to-cup experience, the Gran Baristo now makes cleaning and maintenance an effortless task with their one-finger removable brew group. Auto-cleaning and descaling cycles now require 80% less water than other Saeco superautomatics. Reduced water consumption helps save water for the fishes, creates a 'greener' machine and less tank refilling for you!

Whew! While there is a lot to choose from, Gail makes the choice (a little) easier in the video below! Be sure to watch below and subscribe to our channel for more!

  • SCG In Portland: Rocket Machines

Continuing our trip to Portland, Gail took a moment to look at all the Rocket Machines. Rocket has some of the best looking machines on the market, clean and traditional are a couple of words that come to mind.

The top of the line is the double boiler machine, the R58. It is Rocket Machinesplumbable or you can run it off the water tank that comes with, the choice is truly yours! And boy can this machine steam milk! The service boiler (as it is called in Italy) is very powerful and something to get used to when you first open up your machine.

Next up in the Rocket Machine line up is the Evoluzione model. This model is available to both the Cellini look or the Giotto look (straight or beveled sides). The Evoluzione is a single boiler machine but also has the ability to be plumbed if you are looking to get rid of your water tank.

AnRocket Machined finally you have the Rocket Premium Plus with PID. The Premium Plus with PID also comes in both the Cellini or Giotto look, but is not able to be plumbed in. But, like the name suggests, it comes with a PID. The PID allows you to set the water temperature so you can really dial in your espresso shots.

Watch the video to see each of these machines side by side... by side! And if you haven't already, subscribe to our YouTube channel by clicking here!

  • SCG in Portland: Silvia vs. Silvia with PID

silvia with PIDWhile we were "working" in Portland Gail wanted to show you all the insides of the Rancilio Silvia with PID. The Rancilio Silvia is a simple, reliable and powerful espresso machine. It will  produce excellent espresso and silky microfoam milk for your lattes and cappuccinos, and look pretty great doing it as well!

With it's 67 oz Water Tank, 12 oz Brass Boiler and 15 BAR pump this little guy is ready for anything! And the Rancilio Silvia also has the option to add an optional PID. The optional PID is something that our tech team here at Seattle Coffee Gear installs and gives you precise temperature control.

Watch the video below as Gail walks you through the differences and opens up the Silvia with a PID installed!

  • Commercial Customer Spotlight: Microsoft Data Platform Group

Continuing our commercial customer spotlight series, we thought we would give a little insight into a business that out paces some coffee shops when it comes down to cups to day! That's right, surprisingly when you give coffee away for free, people drink more of it! And by "more of it", we are talking to the tune of 600 cups a day!

The Microsoft Data Platform Group's building was recently remodeled and as a part of that remodel they decided that they wanted to offer free, self-service espresso for their employees. Naturally we wanted to help that dream become a reality, because we know first hand the power of a cup of coffee.Microsoft

    TELL US ABOUT YOUR SETUP

Due to the high demand at our location (~600 cups per day), we chose the Rancilio Egro One Touch with attached multi-fridge option so we can serve both skim milk and 2%. Additionally, we added a large milk refrigerator and cabinet with beans right next to the machines so our employees can refill consumables themselves.

    Microsoft

ANY ADVICE YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE?

We had to buy a second machine to keep up with the demand. We decided to set them up right next to each other rather than distributing them throughout the building because they act as our proverbial water coolers and are a destination in the building where the team members congregate and connect.

MicrosoftOur main advice would be to install the machines over a compost bin so that the grounds can fall into a large receptacle rather than into the little drawer within the machine, which fills up quickly. Also, additional labeling was applied to inform people whom to contact if there is an issue with the machine and to push the milk cartons all the way back in the milk refrigerator to register their presence.

We  are so happy that the folks over at Microsoft are getting great use of their new machines! Cheers!

  • SCG in Portland: Illy Capsule Recycle

Continuing our "working" vacation in Portland, Gail took a moment to talk about the Illy Iperespresso Capsules. As you probably already know, Illy has made making espresso easier than ever. Using one of their capsule machines, like the Francis Francis Y1.1, you can be brewing up a tasty shot in seconds. No grinding or tamping required!

But with a shot of espresso  a day, the amount of used capsules can quickly get out of hand. So instead of throwing your capsules away it is best to recycle them! The Illy capsule recycle program is something we are proud to support. So, save your capsules, and anytime you visit our stores you can bring them in and we will recycle your capsules!

Help us keep the world we share clean and caffeinated!
