Product Description

The sturdy design of the Presso Double Wall French press is as stylish as it is functional. The double thermal walls keep coffee hot longer, and the three part stainless steel plunger allows for a premium coffee extraction. The knob on top of the lid and ergonomic handle are covered with non-slip rubber, for an easy-touch plunge and pour experience.

A Note About Coffee & Cups

Let us break it down for you: Although 8 ounces equals a cup in the baking world, a US cup of coffee is measured at 6 ounces and a European cup of coffee is measured at 4.25 ounces. This is why we sometimes list ounces to paint a more accurate picture of capacity.

Pros
  • Hot, hot, hot - The double wall feature maintains the heat of your coffee and will keep it piping hot for a longer period of time.
  • Unbreakable - Unlike presses with glass carafes, this all stainless steel model is built to last.
Cons
  • Sticky Fingers - The chrome exterior is beautiful but once you get your paws on this press, you'll find that fingerprints are also more visible.

is this a 8 cup french press?
A shopper on May 22, 2012
Best Answer: No, this far bigger than 8 oz. I'm out of town now, but it easily makes 3 healthy cups of coffee.if you're looking for a French press, go with this metal one. It will save you a lot of heartache that comes with the ease by which glass vessels are readily broken. I love this thing.

Is the plunger all steel or does it have plastic/rubber parts?
Bill G on May 28, 2012
Best Answer: The plunger screen is stainless steel. The plunger rim and spokes are plastic. The plunger rim gasket is silicone. The plastic and silicone are BPA-free.

One could not have a plunger without a flexible rim gasket to scrape the walls of the press as it pushes the coffee grounds to the bottom. Silicone is the most inert material one could use for this gasket.

We have 4 of these in constant use and happy customers.

I've used a variety of French presses in the past all of them were glass and brittle worked well yes but broke easily. I finally decided enough is enough I'm getting stainless and I am glad that I did. It is a bit more then what I initially wanted to spend but however the quality of the press and the components of it more then make up for that. Aside of the quality it makes a wonderful cup of coffee it does seal out the grinds better then some other presses I have used which ranges from a 20 dollar mr coffee walmart special to a several other Bodum brand units. Overall I am pleased with this purchase and would totally buy it again. (Posted on 3/26/2014)

Wanted a pot that wouldn't break and would keep coffee drinkable for the morning. Good report from my husband, the main coffee drinker: this morning he made a pot at 9:00 am and coffee was still room temperature at 1:00pm, which is how he likes it. I love the ease of use and cleaning, and it is visually appealing. (Posted on 9/6/2013)

It doesn't hold 3 oz. when the crema is foaming during brewing. Minor inconvenience. About 2 1/2 oz. great product. Love shape and quality. I bought tea brewer( great product).

Pros:
Easy To Use, Commercial Grade, Easy To Clean, Bottomless portafilter

Cons:
Small Water Container (Posted on 2/24/2012)

Aren't you tired of having your glass french press break all the time? That's me, which is why this double-walled stainless steel Bodum french press is perfect. I always stir with a wooden spoon and let the grounds sit for 5 minutes. For whatever reason, this plunger requires extra (slow and deliberate) pressure to use, but that's fine. Plus, if you have any Bodum plunger parts from broken presses past, they appear readily transferable to this french press.

Pros:
Quick Brewing, Easy To Clean, Great Taste, NOT breakable glass, Stainless steel, Easy To Use

Cons:
Small Water Container, Plunger takes patience (Posted on 12/17/2011)

A little over priced for a piece of glass made in China. The size is a bit too large to fit under the pressurized portafilter in the Saeco Aroma. It does fit fine under the non-pressurized. They are just a bit too large. On the plus side they do keep the espresso warmer than a normal shot glass but then again, how long does it really stay in the glass?

Pros:
Maintains temperature

Cons:
Too large (Posted on 11/17/2010)

These are really nice shot glasses. You can tell they are well made. They are surprisingly lightweight. The extra layer of glass and air in between seems to keep it from burning your hands. I don't know if it was designed for that, but it is nice.

Pros:
Great Taste, Easy To Use, Easy To Clean

Cons:
None (Posted on 5/13/2010)

neat looking glass, but holds the heat without transferring to your hand. perfect for the 3 oz shot that my bottomless portafilter produces. Would also purchase the larger glass 6 oz or 9 oz for macchiato or latte.

Pros:
Easy To Use, Commercial Grade, Easy To Clean

Cons:
