Function or fashion? What a difficult decision to make; so why not combine the two? Now Bodum has your back, at least as far as on-the-go coffee is concerned, with this 15 oz. stainless steel travel press that comes in a variety of color schematics. Because true coffee addicts are never seen without a cup of their favorite brew, it's probably best to consider this cup more of an accessory to your outfit, no matter the season or style.

How the Bodum Travel Press Works

Brew a travel-sized portion of your favorite coffee or black, green, white, red or herbal tea by following these easy steps:

  1. Add your desired amount of grounds/leaves into the cup
  2. Fill with boiling water
  3. Stir, then let the mixture seep for 5-8 minutes
  4. Press the plunger to strain the coffee in the filter and push it down
  5. Take it to go!

A Note About Coffee & Cups

Let us break it down for you: Although 8 ounces equals a cup in the baking world, a US cup of coffee is measured at 6 ounces and a European cup of coffee is measured at 4.25 ounces. This is why we sometimes list ounces to paint a more accurate picture of capacity.

  • Hot, hot, hot! - Compared to plastic travel mugs, this travel press will keep your drinks hotter for a longer period of time due to it's stainless steel material.
  • One Size Fits All - Unique in design with a number of different colors, this travel mug unfortunately is only offered in one 15 oz. size.
How Does it Compare?

Not very often do you find a travel press outside of the Bodum brand, it's great to have a two in one cup.

Tips and Tricks

Clean out the travel press often to prevent coffee build up.

I have never used a French press. The description of this product sounds to me like the grounds remain in the bottom of the cup under the plunger. Sounds yucky and I hope I am not visualizing this correctly. The plunger stays in the cup? sticking me in my eye? Please help me understand.

Best Answer: You press the plunger down before drinking or adding becomes part of the lid.. Makes a delicious cup of joe...hardest part is waiting 4 minutes. Grounds stay under plunger...only downside was a bit of a plastic taste the first week or so...probably from the lid.. Mine is red..I use it almost every it!

Perfect Tool for the Job!Review by Jim
I tried using a French Press at home and taking coffee to work in a thermal cup, but usually cold in 1-2 hours.

The Bodum travel press does everything well. Generous capacity means coffee lasts most of the morning, No grounds, Stays warm (even after lunch if you forget to drink the last bit earlier), and fits perfectly in my car's cup holder. Very reasonable price for combined press and thermal cup. Nice styling. And of course it's well made - It's Bodum. Highly recommended - I use mine every day. (Posted on 7/9/2014)
Great for French press on the goReview by Tyler
The quality of coffee produced is on par with other French presses I have used. The product is well-built and has survived numerous drops and dings over the past 2 years I have had it. The insulation is surprisingly good, as well, and will keep your coffee hot for much longer than I ever need (maybe 45 minutes hot and 2 hrs drinkable temp.). When closed, the top does better than most at preventing leaks, although it is not designed to be turned on end when full. The red is more red than the orange color shown in the photos. I am going to order a second one, I like it so much. (Posted on 12/23/2013)
