Will a magnet stick to it? In other words.. will it work on an induction stove?
A shopper on Dec 29, 2015
Best Answer: My kitchen timer with magnet will not attach. It is my understand that induction safe cookware must have a special insignia on the bottom. This kettle does not.

Can I be sure it won't rust ?
RobRiedinger on Oct 14, 2013
Best Answer: Hi Rob, I've been using the bonavita gooseneck for about six months now and am quite impressed by its quality. It won't rust. It stands up to a lot of heat from my gas burner stovetop. Although the hario kettle is what my local coffee shop uses, I liked the styling of the bonavita more than the hario and have not second guessed my decision to go with the bonavita. Cheers.

Does this kettle whistle?
A shopper on Jun 26, 2016
Best Answer: My kettle makes very little sound when the water boils. I would not describe the sound as a whistle.

Can use it on gas stove?
A shopper on Jun 21, 2016
Best Answer: I've been using mine on my gas range for a few years now. The only thing I'd caution you on is to not let the flame wick over the sides. I've heard stories of people who have had the spout fall off because they melted the solder.

Can it be used on a gas stove?
A shopper on Aug 17, 2013
Best Answer: I bought one of these from SCG in february 2014. The part number says this is stainless steel and will work with and induction stove top. I have just ordered an induction range and the salesman and all I have read on line said that for any cookware to work on an induction cook top that it has to be magnetic and to carry a magnet with you. I tried the magnet on this kettle and it is not magnetic? So if not magnetic how can it work on and induction stove top? Is mine faulty?

Right tool for the job.Review by IrishinCT
At first I was worried this would be too small but this kettle worked out perfectly. Our usual brew for two is 800 grams of water so my concern about whether we should have gotten the larger model was unfounded. The control I have now with my pour is worth the price of the kettle alone. It looks sharp on our stove, (which is brushed stainless steel and black) . I cannot address how this will stand up to everyday use as I have only had it for a month now. I was a little surprised at how thin the metal was on the sides and bottom but if this kettle wears well it is an amazing buy for the price. Would highly recommend this to anyone and SCG was very helpful with any questions I had. An awesome product and a company that is a pleasure to do business with. (Posted on 2/22/2014)
Great KettleReview by D&KM
I've used this gooseneck kettle for two weeks worth of pour overs and it's worked very well. Pros: Price(least expensive gooseneck kettle I've found), holding up well to daily use, pour control is great, great size if you're only making a few cups at a time. Cons: Takes longer to stovetop heat water than to use an electric kettle (I just heat water in an electric kettle and pour it into the Bonavita). Overall it's a great buy, I highly recommend it. Great gooseneck kettleReview by SBPILOTBB
A great little SS kettle for the price. Pros: construction, design & good looks, compact size, ergonomics for pour. Cons: handle gets hot if pot is centered on flame (offset it); small size means plenty of refills (also in the pro section b/c it's a great looking size for a compact kitchen). Overall would definitely recommend - solid product, durable construction - wouldn't miss my morning pour w/o it! (Posted on 2/19/2013)
