Flexibility - Height adjustable from 2 inches to 9 inches for your mug or carafe.
BYOB - You can drip directly into a mug. A stand is nice but not always necessary for brewing pour over coffee.
Loosey-Goosey - The stands main support tube is friction fit into the base so don't pick it up by just that.
How Does it Compare?
This versatile adjustable height stand can be used for all sorts of crazy coffee experimentation.
Best Answer:Because the stainless steel upright is removable it is not rigidly straight, but the slight angle does not increase when the dripper and hot water are added to the stand. The slight degree of angle is easily compensated for since you can center your receptacle, and I like removing the upright occasionally since it sits on my kitchen counter. When I remove the upright it does double duty as a nice trivet for hot items.
can I use Bonavita Porcelain Pour Over Coffee Dripper Stand with Hario V60 Drip Scale?
A shopper on Aug 10, 2014
Best Answer:I would not recommend this Bonavita Porcelain Pour Over Stand with the Hario Drip Scale, as this Bonavita stand is fairly heavy and not very stable on the Hario Scale. The Hario V60 Drip Station, however, is much lighter weight and is a perfect fit for the Hario V60 Scale, so this would be my recommendation. The Hario Station can be found at the link below:
Your description says that you can use your current dripper, but the ring does look rather small/unsuited to fit the Beehouse drippers, which are what I use. Has anyone tried to fit the Beehouse drippers on these, and if so, what are your experiences?
Best Answer:Aaron, I use the Bonavita Ceramic Dripper with the #2 Beehouse dripper al the time, and it is a perfect fit. The two little ridges on the bottom of the Beehouse dripper fit nicely over the ring, so it does not slide off, and can even withstand a small jostle with no problems. As an aside I have also used it with a Hario dripper, and it works equally well with that, but I usually like the Beehouse best if for no other reason than the filter papers are standard and can be found anywhere.
OK, normally I put my drip brewer with the grounds in it directly on my cup on my scale. Then I tare it all in order to measure out my pour using a gooseneck kettle. If I'm using the stand... how do I properly measure the pour ?
Best Answer:Gene, you can put the stand itself on your scale and then tare it with the cone and cup in place, so there would be no real difference beyond adding the stand to the scale too before taring. I LOVE this stand, especially the fact that it is height adjustable, making it ideal for small cups or large travel mugs.
Well made dripper with height adjustment!Review by Eileen
The Bonavita dripper is made of porcelain and is of very good quality. Your cup or decanter sits on a disc of stainless steel that fits nicely into a plastic drip tray. The whole look is both classy and remarkable easy to clean and empty. One of the most outstanding differences between the Bonavita dripper station and the rest that are out there is how easy it is to adjust the height of the dripper cone. It doesn't matter if you are using a tiny cup or a large travel mug, a simple squeeze on the height adjustment and it is exactly where you want it to be with no splashing to the exterior. Bonavita also makes a V-style dripper, which I have not yet purchased, but I have been successful using a Hario dripper, Melitta dripper, and Beehouse dripper. All fit the support ring easily. Fantastic drip stand!Review by Eileen
I received my Bonavita porcelain pour over drip stand today and absolutely LOVE it. It is exceptionally well made, with nice thick porcelain in glistening white. What sets this stand apart from the competitors is that a simple squeeze on the ring stand and you can set the dripper height to whatever mug/decanter/travel mug you might be using. That means there are no errant drips spraying on your table or counter. Within the porcelain is a nice stainless steel rest that snuggles in a thick plastic reservoir. Each piece is well thought out, sturdy, and fits together perfectly. On top of all that the actual rod that holds the dripper can simply be pulled out and put in a draw if you want to go minimalist looking on your counter. (Posted on 4/3/2013)
