The Gold Tone Filter is built to last and provides an incredibly smooth cup of coffee. Reusable, and dishwasher safe (upper rack), this filter fits most coffee makers that use a standard #4 size filter, plus Technivorm coffee makers and most 10 and 12 cup European coffee makers. We have noticed a taste difference between coffee brewed with gold filters and coffee brewed with paper filter. Conduct your own coffee experiments to see which you prefer!
Dishwasher Safe - Simply place your Gold Tone Filter onto the upper rack of your dishwasher to clean
Reusable - Use your Gold Tone Filter again and again with gentle washing, it's made to last for years
Wash With Every Use - To keep your coffee tasting great, the Gold Tone Filter must be washed each time you use it
Sediment - We suggest using a coarse grind to avoid sediment in your coffee
How Does it Compare?
You'll find that this Gold Tone Filter is designed to last several years, will give you a smoother cup of coffee and will save you money due to its reusability.
Tips and Tricks
This Gold Tone Filter is a little loosey-goosey in the Bonavita and K741 Technivorm models. It works but there's some jiggle to it. If you prefer things high and tight then check out the Frieling Gold Filter.
How clean of a cup do you get from using this filter? Is it as clean as Kone/Chemex? Or do you get a lot more fines in the cup with this filter?

Best Answer:I wouldn't say "more" really. It's just a cleanable filter so you don't have to keep buying paper ones. But really, it's not that noticeable until that last cup as long as you don't stir the pot before pouring.
Can people who are allergic to gold use this filter? There is no detail about what it is made from.

Best Answer:The filter isn’t actually made of gold, but it’s usually made of stainless steel and enhanced with gold plating. Whether or not gold plating affects an allergy to gold is unknown to me, but I would imagine it would as the outermost layer does contain gold.
Best Answer:Unfortunately no, the Hario filters are a round cone that tapers to a point at the bottom, while this #4 filter has flat sides and a flat bottom. This Gold Tone Filter for Coffee Makers #4 is not a good fit for the Hario pour overs.
It's too big to replace the number for filter in my Technivorm. I'm really disappointed. My advice to anybody purchasing this for a Technivorm coffee maker, don't. (Posted on 2/8/2015)
Weird additionReview by Rachel
This wire filter is a weird, free, add on to my new Technivorum mainly because the instructions to the coffee maker expressly say not to use a wire filter.
So, I am kinda confused why it is included. (Posted on 11/9/2014)
OKProductReview by Mike
This came with my moccamaster as a free gift. Depending on the grind it can be easy or hard to clean thoroughly. I will stick with the paper filters. (Posted on 5/18/2014)
Don't use oftenReview by Anne
Received as part of free gift with Technivorm from Seattle Coffee Gear. Have used it a few times, seem to get a little sediment in the bottom of coffee pot when using the gold tone filter. Changed the grind on the coffee and it helped a little. (Posted on 11/24/2013)
okReview by CAM
It was a little large for my coffee pot and I found an old one from another house that fit better so I put the new one on the shelf till I need another coffee pot. (Posted on 8/27/2013)

The Golden BasketReview by The Countess of Cheshire
This gold basket was part of a free kit I received with my Tecnivorn Moccamaster purchase from SCG. It provides you with a more flavorful cup of coffee since, it permits the oils to seep through.
The only thing I don't like about it is I can't toss it into the garbage bin so, I must empty its contents and rinse it. It's worth it though.
Easy To Use, Well made, Is dishwasher safe
