Breville Espresso Cleaning Tablets help keep your espresso machine performing (and your espresso tasting) its very best. Just insert one tablet into the machine's portafilter and run the clean cycle. The cleaning tablets come in a package of eight and work with all Breville Espresso Machines.
Best Answer:There is no expiration date on the tablet container. The tablets contain sodium percarbonate which should last indefinitely as long as they stay dry. The "Clean Me!" notice comes up on the LCD after approximately 200 shots. I pull four shots per day so I clean the machine about every 50 days.
I think you're supposed to clean it once every two or three months, but more with heavy use. I'm sure I don't clean my machine enough, but the self-cleaning program makes the entire process really easy.
How does the machine decide when a cleaning cycle is required? I have a Breville Infuser, and was wondering if the' clean me' light comes on after a certain number of shots, or after time, or if it has a sensor that somehow measures the buildup of grime?
Best Answer:The "Clean Me" light on the Breville machines like your Infuser is based on a cup counter and unfortunately the machine does not have a way to measure build up in the unit. I believe the counter is about every 200 cups or so, and will require back flushing with the cleaning disc and a cleaning tablet.
