what does "ph-coffee neutral" mean on the reverse side of the wrapper? Does it mean the water ph going into machine turns 7.0 or above?

Best Answer: Bottom line:
It means the unique taste of a particular coffee bean will not be affected by the water's pH. In that the filter has made sure that the water will be within the standard criteria of a normal pH of water.
Hope this helps. I always use this filter for my Jura Capressa, and have always been pleased.

In general, a water with a pH 7 is considered basic. The normal range for pH in surfacewater systems is 6.5 to 8.5 and for groundwater systems 6 to 8.5. Alkalinity is a measure of the capacity of the water to resists a change in pH that would tend to make the water more acidic.

I have a Jura Capresso. I Love it! Even though it is initially expensive, I figure the cost per cup is about .15c. It has more than paid for itself in the 3-4 years I've had it. The filters are important to keep the machine working properly and the coffee tasting great Seattle coffee company has a great price on these filters and has always given me excellent prompt service.

Pros:
Great Taste, Easy To Use

Cons:

We only use coffee beans from Europe. The filter surely does it job - provide pure water for my coffee, not alter my coffee taste, and yet keep my coffee machine going.
