Product Description

I ain't saying she's a gold digger, but she only brews coffee using Cilio's 23 Karat Gold Plated #4 Cone Coffee Filter. This tasteless, odorless 23k gold plated foil filter will not effect the flavor of your coffee or absorb flavor from previous brews. Built to fit 6 - 12 cup coffee makers that specifically require a #4 cone filter. Also includes a convenient handle for lifting used grounds out of a brewer and folds down when you're ready to brew the next batch.

  • Eco-Friendly - Permanent filters reduce daily waste, while disposable filters add to the clutter.
  • Dishwasher Safe - This coffee filter is upper rack dishwasher safe, or simply rinse out for a super fast clean-up.

I grind my coffee powder fine and find that permanent filters let some grounds through into the carafe. Is this the case with this filter as well?
Egon R on Oct 8, 2015
Best Answer: Yes, if you grind your coffee very fine, or have a less consistent grinder, smaller particles will be able to pass through. We generally recommend a little coarser grind, within the drip range, and not on the finer spectrum like espresso. While this filter does a great job or keeping most of it in the filter, some fines/silt can pass through and into your carafe.

Is this gold foil over 100% stainless steel? If not, what is the entire composite of the metal part of the basket.
A shopper on Aug 23, 2015
Best Answer: This is 23 karat gold plated over foil. The metal that is underneath the gold is foil.

Where is it made?
Anita M on Feb 20, 2015
Best Answer: Although it does not specifically state that it is "Made In" Germany, the box does say "Germany" on it, so that's where I believe that it's produced too!

Does this filter fit the Chemex?
A shopper on Jan 23, 2015
Best Answer: No, unfortunately this would not work with the Chemex. The Chemex uses a cone shaped filter, and since this is a v-shape, it will not seat down into the Chemex properly.

Why is there so much plastic in this cone? Is there a gold or stainless steel cone that does not have plastic? I don't want to drink a beverage that has very hot liquid in contact with plastic!
Almy L on Nov 25, 2014
Best Answer: Unfortunately we do not carry a reusable filter that does not have some plastic on it. If you do not want the water to come in contact with the plastic, I would suggest using a paper filter instead of the reusable filters.

Good FilterReview by Jeff
Good quality. Doesn't sit down very well in my Bonavita. Makes it a little tricky to use. (Posted on 10/20/2014)
good pruductReview by bill
The filter is easy to use and no problem to clean. I like the lack of paper taste and the idea of saving a tree. (Posted on 9/24/2014)
