Overview

In its fifth edition, Kenneth Davids' seminal book about all things coffee is accredited with helping shape the current specialty coffee industry.

Learn everything about coffee: Growing, buying, tasting, roasting, grinding, brewing and serving it. Coffee: A Guide to Buying, Brewing and Enjoying is the best resource out there if you're interested in the finer points of great espresso.

Pros
  • Great for History Buffs - This book covers the history of both coffee and its different brewing methods
  • Beginner Friendly - From a glossary to drink recipes, there is some excellent information in here for those that are new to coffee and espresso
Cons
  • Not Many Images - There aren't a lot of pictures in here, so if you want a book filled with pretty images this probably isn't the one for you
  • Brewing Brevity - It doesn't go as in-depth on brewing methods as we'd like
How Does it Compare? This is a great book for those that want to learn about all things coffee.
