The DeLonghi Esclusivo is a large capacity (70 oz.), programmable drip coffee maker with a special 'Freshness Indicator' that tells you how long the coffee has been standing in the pot.
How the Delonghi DC514T Works
You can select a longer brew cycle by pushing the 'Aroma Button', which will achieve a full-bodied flavor by advancing through several continuous cycles while water is released into the filter basket in 30-second intervals.
Features & Functionality of the Delonghi DC514T Esclusivo Drip Coffee Maker
Large Capacity Carafe - The carafe can hold the equivalent of 14 cups of coffee.
Aroma Button - A special time release brewing option, the Aroma Button will initiate a series of brew cycles, releasing water every 30 seconds. This process saturates grounds a little bit at a time, extracting the fullest flavor and aroma from your coffee.
Programmable - Set your coffee to brew at some time in the future -- and don't worry, it will automatically shut off after 2 hours.
Advanced Water Filtration - Special filtration system enhances flavor by removing the taste from chlorinated water.
Freshness Indicator - Never gulp stale coffee again! The freshness indicator will let you know how long the coffee has been in the pot so you can make a fresh cup -- before you've insulted your senses!
Permanent Filter - The durable, gold-tone filter is specially designed to keep even incredibly fine coffee grounds in place.
Bang for the buck mainly, but definitely wasn't going to purchase another Cuisinart as I have had two recently that were broken in no time. This unit is twice the maker at about half the price of a Cuisinart
Best Answer:Yes, it does. My wife and I have had two Cuisinart makers that have been very disappointing. Both have quit working within a relatively short timeframe. After doing some research, I decided on this maker and we have been delighted. My wife drinks coffee all day long and we really like this unit. I also think that the fill compartment is more user-friendly. All in all, I think you will be happy with this purchase. David Dickson, TN
I just wondered how hot the water is? My husband likes the water to be very hot - almost boiling when he makes his coffee. Does this make a good cup of coffee?
A shopper on Nov 12, 2012
Best Answer:When the coffee first brews is when its the hottest. My husband is usually the first to make his coffee in the mornings and it almost burns his mouth. By the time I get up and make mine an hour later, its still very hot, but not as hot as his is. We've been through several brands of coffee makers over the years and this by far makes the best cup of coffee we've ever had.
I would say this is by far the best coffee maker I've owned. It makes very hot cups of coffee, all that I've brewed have been wonderful. My favorite part is that it comes with a permanent filter, so you never have to deal with buying or running out of the paper ones.
Hi, I'm wondering if this coffee maker works well with small quantities. I usually make just 2 cups for myself unless I have company. If it does not, is there a smaller model with similar features? Thanks!
Best Answer:Yes, smaller amounts work fine. However, unless they fixed the problem (Delonghi), the carafe leaks badly around the entire rim. The seal between glass and plastic is very poor. Otherwise an amazing brewing machine.
Best Answer:We measured the temperature with a digital thermometer at the point that the coffee leaves the brew basket and it measured at about 169 degrees Fahrenheit. The optimal brew temperatures you want to be around are 195-205. We made a video comparing different brewers and brew temperatures that you may find interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rVUo0X2Lds

OMGosh, you are MUCH more sophisticated than I! :) I have no idea at which temperature the coffee brews...but I CAN tell you this! My coffee is famous for the delicious taste, and I credit 80% of that to the coffee maker. I like that one can select the brew time, and I also like that the coffee basket is cone shaped...it gets more difficult to find those.
What size filter does this use? And is the capacity really 14 cups?
The reason I ask is that I recently bought the Cuisinart DCC 1200 for it's capactiry (12-cup). It uses #4 cone filters. When I make a full pot of coffee, the grounds splash everywhere within the machine, including the water reservoir and the charcoal filter well. The innards of this machine look remarkably similar and I don't want to get into the same trouble. Thank you.

Best Answer:We've had our DeLonghi for about 2 years and have never had any trouble with it. It has a mesh filter of its own, plus we use an additional cone filter (#2) just because I think it gives it an even smoother taste. But even if you didn't, it makes the most amazing coffee and no trouble with grounds getting outside the filter.
As for the capacity, it can make 14 cups. It has an aroma button that increases the amount of time the grounds soak before releasing the coffee. It's made to get the most flavor from your coffee and it works great. However if you chose to use this setting, it perculates so much that it takes longer to brew and you lose maybe 2-3 cups. So if we have company or something where we need a full 14 cups, we just brew it on a regular cycle.
If your looking for a quick cup of coffee this machine won't be what you're looking for, but if you're looking for quality, it measures up perfectly. We use the timer setting, so it brews early enough that it's ready when we need it. So far the only dowfall we've seen is that in the process of getting that great coffee, the machine produces alot of steam. If it's under the cupboards we cover it with a small hand towel to catch most of the moisture, but if its out in the open its just fine.
I hope this helps you make your decision. This is by far the best coffee maker we've ever owned and I would buy it again if I had to. If you can work around the brew time and the steam like we have, you'll find yourself with an amazing cup of coffee.
Up to the 14 cup line, it holds 72 ounces, which is 12 6oz cups. So . . . I'm not sure where they are getting the 14.
The filter is a metal mesh and is easily washed out after every pot is made. we like it a lot better than paper filters.
There is not a lof of splashing and after months of use we will find a few grounds on outside of the filter well and coffee-maker lid--nothing in the water reservoir.
~~This coffee maker creates coffee equal to or better than what we can purchase at specialty coffee shops. My daughter and I had the same gourmet coffee in a standard coffee maker and it was good--we used our DeLonghi with the Aroma option and the coffee was great.
Also, we've probably made a pot every day or so since December 2010 and it has worked the same since we pulled it out of the box.
Best Answer:Hello, this is a two-prong coffee maker. There is no 3rd electrical prong. This machine beeps loudly when complete, and every 15 minutes. It's a good coffee maker for it's price but not a GREAT one. If you order one, be sure to ask for an extra plastic coffee-holder, the thing where the filter and coffee reside. At the bottom of this holder is a springy-thing that butts against the carafe so when you pull out the carafe the coffee stops dropping. The spring-thing tends to break unless the carafe is 'carefully' replaced. So, more than you asked for but I hope it helps! Patrick, Chicago, IL
Best Answer:Unfortunately, we do not carry any Delonghi parts for their drip machines. I would certainly recommend contacting Delonghi directly to see if you can get the part you need from them: 800-322-3848.
What is the recommended procedure for cleaning the Drip Coffee Maker?
A shopper on Aug 14, 2014
Best Answer:We recommend cleaning drip coffee makers with the product Cleancaf. This is basically a product that you brew through the unit with without coffee to remove coffee residue. For removal of scale build up, we recommend descaling with Dezcal. This breaks up any scale in the unit so you can flush it through, and again, is a product that you brew through the machine without coffee. I have included a few links below:
Best Answer:We've been pretty happy with this DeLonghi DC514T Esclusivo, however we don't work on coffeemakers in our service center, and so we don't know how often they're coming in for service down the line. I am sorry I can't provide more on this model, but hopefully you or other customers might be able to provide some feedback!
This is my first time with a DeLonghi coffee maker. It's the fastest I've ever had. I particularly like the chlorine filter that fits in the tank. It does take all the chlorine taste out of our extremely nasty water here. The aroma button slows down the brewing, but makes a much better tasting cup of coffee. I will repeat this purchase when the time comes. (Posted on 11/7/2014)
Mixed...Review by daily addict
We owned one of these for 5 years and used it daily. It worked for 5 years then quit, never to heat up again. That's a personal first. All other coffee makers I was given (used) and then passed on to someone else, and they were normally much older than this one was.
It made decent coffee. Not bad, not great. The design of the lid was such that water would drip down the back of the coffee maker when opened and make a mess on the countertop, and stenciling was starting to come off. (Posted on 8/26/2014)
crackedReview by Coffee Al
Upon first use, the carafe cracked and coffee went everywhere. Fail.
Also really really slow brewing. Extremely dissappointed. (Posted on 6/13/2014)
For the Price Its a Good Alternative - but...Review by Atascadero Gal
It seemed as though the box had been previously opened when I got the package. But I was so sick of my Cuisinart puking grounds into the carafe I had to find something different. I hope this is the last one of these machines I have to buy for a long time. The reason I rate the quality the way I do here is that the rubber feet needed to be glued back in and even with that done its not perfectly balanced but it is better than it was when every time I needed to move it forward to pour water into it one of the feet would stay behind. The aroma feature does help to get me up in the morning. Oh and the buttoms seem flimsy, like its not made out of the best quality materials that exist but I guess it was either this or a Mr. Coffee that I really didnt want. (Posted on 10/15/2013)
Absolutely FantasticReview by DK
We rent a house in Tx for the winter and this was the coffee pot in there. It is fantastic and will be ordering one as soon as we get back to Iowa where we live when not in Tx. for the winter. (Posted on 3/11/2013)
Great Product, Great ServiceReview by Ms. Finnicky
The coffee pot was a bargain compared to similar models of other brands. Nice, sleek, modern look. Shipping was super-fast! I got it less than 24 hours after ordering! Unfortunately, the dimensions listed for the coffee maker are inaccurate. I needed a unit no more than 13 inches high (height listed was 12 3/4 in.), and this one came in at about 14 inches, so doesn't fit under cabinets in my RV. Too bad - had to give it to my daughter 8-( (Posted on 10/8/2012)
Best coffee makerReview by marcie
I had purchased this machine over a year ago and have been completely satisfied..we use 8 ounce mugs and with this one, both of us are able to get our 'fix' easily, it brews quickly and...I don't have to make a second pot every morning:):)
It's held up very well in spite of our extremely hard water unlike other brands I've used.
The product is excellent..will continue to use this brand/style in the future.

Really nice maker!Review by toni
Great coffee maker....I probably didn't need one with quite as large a capacity as this has, but it will be nice when company comes. Easy to operate and very stylish to look at. Love that it opens from the front not the back. Coffee tastes great...very flavorful and full bodied.
