The DeLonghi Magnifica ECAM 23210B is one of the most compact superautomatics we have ever seen, but don't let its small size fool you. The Magnifica ECAM 23210B contains many of the features found on much larger and more expensive machines, such as an intuitive interface, removable water tank, automatic three hour shut off and energy saving mode, a professional quality burr grinder and a cup warmer. We predict it will only be a matter of minutes between taking the DeLonghi Magnifica ECAM23210B out of the box and making your first cup of great tasting espresso.

Compact - One of the smaller superautos on the market, the Magnifica ECAM 23210B is great for small kitchens or limited office counter space.
Simple Controls - Straightforward and easy-to-navigate controls.
Built-In H2O Filter - Clean water equals fresh coffee. The Magnifica ECAM 23210B has an internal water filtration system to ensure the greatest tasting cup of coffee possible.
Short Steam Wand - The steam wand's design is not very ergonomic and is a little shorter than we'd like, making frothing your milk difficult at times.

How Does it Compare?
The Magnifica ECAM 23210B is great in size, but offers no other upgrades versus other superautomatics.
will it takes already ground coffee, or it only takes bean?

Best Answer:Takes whole bean in a large holder, grinds the beans and delivers a beautiful espresso type beverage. It also will take pre ground coffee manually put into a separate receptacle by the user. I use this for decaf beverages mainly, but it will take any preground coffee (finely ground is best)
Yes, it will take pre ground coffee. FYI, I love this espresso machine. It's easy to use and makes a fantastic latte. You want to use a high quality bean though and ones that are not oily or it can gum up the grinder.
It takes pre-ground coffee through the little bypass door seen on the top of the machine. We use it for de-caf. If you are planning on making a lot of coffee using this provision, this may not be the best machine. You are limited to a single scoop and don't have as much flexibility relative to brew strength. That said we love the machine.
I know this might sound crazy but I order an 8 shot Americano every morning and I am looking to save money by buying my own machine. If I wanted to pull 8 uninterrupted shots - would this Delonghi Magnifica continue to keep the water evenly hot during this or would it require wait time between them? Thank you in advance!
Best Answer:Any superautomatic will have a fairly quick heat up and be able to pull a number of shots without wait time between them. The downside is that you will need to press the button to brew more than once, as the machine cannot pull 8 shots unattended by pressing the button just once. In a showroom test on our Magnifica ECAM 23210B, I found the temp of the shots was consistent over 8 brews, and there was not any additional wait time.
I make about 4 double shots every morning but not without a few minutes between draws. I can attest to 2 double shots in a row without a noticeable diminution of temperature. I just don't know if that would continue for the remainder you seek.
Absolutely no wait time for the water to heat. Even when first turning the machine on in the morning the wait time for the machine to get ready is less than a minute! Once it shows it is ready to brew the water coming out is hot. Fantastic machine! I totally enjoy mine.
Best Answer:I like my coffee strong, so I do the maximum beans and max single cup twice for the larger amount (approx 12 oz total) If you do the two cup at once it is weaker as it is more water but the same amt of coffee is ground. I only tried that once, and it was not strong enough for me. If you like it stronger and want more volume then you have to do single cup twice. It is very fast and easy to do it twice. It makes wonderful coffee. European style, strong with "crema" on top. If you want espresso style it does that very well also, just set for less water.
Best Answer:I don't know, but what I can say is that I am very happy with the machine so far. It took a week or so to begin to produce great coffee and lattes, but it has been consistent since then. Temperature has not been a problem. I don't live in altitude, though. The only thing that I would note is that I prefer steaming milk and producing froth without the special device that it brings. The device produces too much foam and not as thick as I like. But it is just a question of taking the device out (which only takes a second) and steaming the milk with the also removable piece that one finds inside. Sorry that I could not provide the answer that you were looking for, but hope that it could not hurt knowing these impressions.
Hello, we have one of these at work and I've noticed that the tamping sound doesn't happen anymore and the espresso comes out thin. I've tried playing with different grind settings but it still seems to tamp rather sporadically. Seems to have a tamping mind of its own. Any tips on this? Thanks.
Best Answer:It sounds like there could be an issue with the infuser of your Magnifica 23210B or the gear itself cycling in your machine. We would need to take a look at the machine to diagnosis it and would not be able to determine exactly what is going on without seeing the machine in our service center, unfortunately. If you'd like us to set up a repair order, give us a call at 866-372-4734. If you aren't in the Northwest and you'd prefer to see if DeLonghi has a closer service center for repairs, they can be reached at 800-865-6330.
Best Answer:The finest grind on this DeLonghi Magnifica is a 1, and the best setting will depend on the beans you use. I would suggest trying a grind of about 4 and see how you like the flavor. An oily bean may need a coarser setting like a 5 or higher, and a drier bean may need a 3. Generally finer grinds result in stronger flavor with a dry, matte finish bean, and will also be necessary to use as the burrs wear with age. If the machine is new, a middle range setting would be best and a setting of 1 should not be necessary unless your burrs are very old/worn. Hope this helps!
