After using to clean the coffee maker we failed to rinse. We notice the coffee was very bitter. At once we realized we did not rinse. We ingested less than an ounce. Could this be harmful?
Chris on Feb 4, 2015
Best Answer: No, it's not harmful if consumed in small quantities. Really, only if you were to drink the full bottle, would you get a stomach ache because of the concentration of citric acid, but there would not be any long term effects.

What the difference between a descaler and decalcifier?
Samm W on Aug 3, 2015
Best Answer: Technically, a decalcifier is designed to work to remove/dissolve calcium salts. A descaler would apply to any mineral salts, not just calcium.

What are the ingredients? How do they compare to other de-scalers and de-calcifiers?
A shopper on Jun 30, 2013
Best Answer: This Durgol Swiss contains 15% amidosulfonic acid and auxiliary ingredients. Most decalcifiers/descalers are made of either sulfamic acid or citric acid, and will be either liquid or powder. Our tests have found that they really preform the same, no matter what the brand!

Can I use Durgol instead of Saeco descaling solution in my Saeco machine without voiding the warranty?
A shopper on May 5, 2017
Best Answer: If you are within warranty terms, it's always best to use recommended accessories. Besides, Saeco's descaler is about half the price! https://www.seattlecoffeegear.com/saeco-descaler-decalcifier

I use Durgol regularly to descale my espresso machine. Do I also need to "clean" it to remove oil residue, or does Durgol alone address this?
Coffeefitz on Sep 22, 2016
Best Answer: Durgol uses an acid-base to quickly remove limescale buildup, but won't really do much for regular cleaning. You'll also want to regularly clean your milk system and backflush your machine (if applicable). What machine do you run?

Can Durgol be used with a Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker? I've read that some of the cleaners are too harsh for the copper coils in the moccasmaster & that they willl tarnish the chrome parts.
A shopper on Aug 14, 2016
Best Answer: I really haven't found Durgol to be any harsher than other types of descaler, so it should work just fine for your Technivorm.

Hope this helps!

Works greatReview by DaveG
Durgol Swiss came with my DeLonghi Magnifica when I got it more than 6 years ago and I've used it for descaling every time since then. It not only works great for descaling the espresso machine, I use the steampot from the top of the woodburning stove to catch the Durgol after it is pumped through the Magnifica so it gets descaled at the same time at no extra cost. Easy to Use. WonderfulReview by Gilby
This product works well with my Philips Seaco DTP B001. Looks like water and works as intended. Nothing like a fresh brewed coffee taste in the morning.

I shopped around and SeattleCoffeeGear had the best price. My Philip Saeco DTP B001 was purchase at SeattleCoffeeGear 2 years ago. (Posted on 4/5/2013)

Did the trick!Review by Coffee Queen
This descaler is much easier than the powered mix that I have previously used. Priced reasonably, and arrived so quickly. Nice to have the 2 pack, so I'll be ready the next time the descale message appears on our Gaggia.

Easy To Use, Commercial Grade

Great in DeLongi Magnifica!Review by Wally
A bottle of Durgol was included with my machine, and the first time I needed to descale, I used it. The second time, I bought the product recommended where I bought my machine. It wasn't Durgol. After several descaling sessions, my machine started misbehaving.

Instead of sending it in for repair, I decided to find some Durgol and try it.

I was amazed at the IMMEDIATE result. The machine works like it is brand new now! I can't guarantee the same result in all cases, but my plan is to buy this product in bulk (save on shipping) and use it for routine maintenance.

Easy To Use
