Product Description

Scottie Callaghan, World Latte Art Champion, designed a set of dosing tools indispensable for cafe baristas and home baristas alike. Consistency is something every barista strives for, and now its easier than ever. The Espresso Dosing Tools Set makes grooming fresh fluffy espresso grinds in the portafilter basket easy to replicate time after time. This pairs well with the Coffee Catcha for a preparation with no fuss and no muss (and NO FINGERS in the mounded espresso.)

"I developed the dosing tools to give the user flexibility, control and/or a reference point when dosing with fresh coffee and grinding fresh or to order, for baristas who have found the need to adjust their dose depending on the variables they want to control." -- Scottie Callaghan

  • Professional - Nobody wants fingers in their drink! And a butter knife looks a little unprofessional. Show off your barista street cred with specially designed tools of the trade.
  • Sturdy - Three thick plastic pieces about 3.25 inches long on a keyring with a small clip for keeping your tools together. Each piece is double-sided to offer 6 total dosing options.
  • Protect Your Manicure! - No more espresso-stained fingers with these easy espresso dosing tools.
  • Practice Makes Perfect - As with any tool, there is a learning curve. Take the time to get the feel for these handy helpers.
  • Where'd I Put That? - You might misplace such a compact tool set in an overcrowded kitchen drawer.
How Does it Compare?

The first dedicated espresso dosing tools we've used, and a big upgrade from using our fingers!

Say, you ever use "Chicago Chop" technique?
DeAngelo C on Jan 22, 2014
Best Answer: I believe I use a version of it with these. I'm still so glad I have these.

I can get doses level and to the exact weight I want with these. If ground coffee is higher than the basket, I "chop" it in a hash-pattern to settle it in, rather than use my fingers which I feel are probably pretty uneven.

I can also use the "Stockfleth's" kind of motion with these to get the coffee well-distributed around the edges of the basket.

I use them everyday.

I use these every day!Review by David
At first, I was ordering all sorts of gadgets and accessories to go with my new setup. These were part of that "flurry."

As it turns out, I use these several times a day. They are great for leveling, but the most useful thing is that due to the various shapes, the are actually able to level *and *remove coffee from the portafilter underneath the level of the rim. So, if my ground coffee weighs 19 grams and I really want it to weigh 17, I can choose one of these and use it to level with a "concave" bowl in the center of the portafilter. I mean just a gentle amount. They can be used with a kind of "Stockfleth's" rotation for great packing. (Posted on 6/17/2013)
