Description About Espresso Republic - Colombia Buena Vista
The incredibly versatile Pink Bourbon varietal makes up this Colombia Buena Vista from Espresso Republic. Pink Bourbon is a hybrid that combines the best body and richness generally attributed to South American coffees with the best floral and citrusy notes generally attributed to African coffees. Grower Edgar Motta's production takes place primarily at the highest altitudes available allowing him to increase the quality and price of his coffee so that he can maintain more of the land as wild forest. Quality and sustainability, two things we love. We taste plum, molasses, and orange blossom.

Recommended Brew Methods
A 2:1 water-to-coffee ratio for your espresso shot is recommended. Using a scale to dial in your shots makes the process faster and more accurate. Your espresso grind should be very fine and powdery. Shots should take 30-40 seconds to brew and be thick and syrupy. Don’t stress, adjustments are always needed to get your shots pulling just right!
We recommend a 16:1 water to coffee ratio for your dosing. Use a scale for best results! For pour over, use a medium-coarse grind size somewhere between drip and press levels. Start with a short pour to wet the grounds and “bloom” the coffee for 30 seconds, followed by two more pours, divided in half to reach the appropriate remaining ratio of water to coffee.
Start with a 16:1 water-to-coffee ratio for your dosing. You’ll want a medium grind size for drip brewing that’s finer than what you’d use for pourover. Make sure you give the filter basket a shake to evenly distribute the grounds in the filter for best results. Turn on your brewer and it’ll do the rest!
Superautos make brewing espresso easy. All you need to do is add beans to the hopper and press a button to pull yourself a shot. If your shot is a bit sour you’ll want to dial the grinder a little bit finer and try again. If it’s bitter, dial it a little coarser. You can find instructions on how to do this for your machine in the manual. Just remember to avoid oily beans that can clog your superauto’s grinder!
