If you have the Ena 5 under cabinets how many inches do you need to fill the water?
    A shopper on Jul 5, 2013
Best Answer: Mine sits unobstructed on an island, but I did some measuring when picking up the reservoir and it looks like you'd need between five and six inches of free space above the machine (I'm allowing two inches for my hand in that measurement) to pull the tank up, out, and then swing it behind the machine to get it out.

Again, my machine is not confined by overhanging cabinets so I just pull the reservoir straight up and out . I hope this helps answer your question and give a better idea of how you would situate the machine in your home. I LOVE mine!!!

I have a Ena 4 that says TRAY MISSING. The trays are all installed. Do you have advice for how to investigate and resolve this problem?

As best as I can tell, there is a pair of plastic notches just behind the front of the tray that hits a switch in the left slot. I can move the switch manually with a small tool. But it doesn't solve the problem. Doesn't look like there is a switch in the right slot.

Alternately a way to bypass that error would be great.
    Chester L on Dec 13, 2014
Best Answer: I had a similar problem with my Ena5, but I don't think I have the switches that you have.

The machine was telling me that the tray wasn't there, and I could tell that it was missing a few millimeters to be in all the way.

I unplugged the machine, took out the water reservoir, and turned it over so that the front was facing down. I had some debris that came out of the machine after that. Then I took an air compressor to it and blew it out. LOTS more debris. Works like a charm now, and I'm careful with my manual dosing anymore.

I grind oily beans that are not recommended for the Ena5 grinder with an stand alone grinder. Long story short, I was overloading the machine, and the extra grounds went to the back of the tray and ended up stopping the tray from going all the way back. I learned a lesson.

    Hope this helps!

Is there any way to see how many espressos have been brewed on the machine like you can on the other Jura superautos? I know the warranty is good for up to 6,000 coffees; it would be nice to be able to know how many you've done so far so that you know how much of the warranty you have left.
    Robby G on Feb 24, 2013
Best Answer: Don't think it's possible. I bought a refurbished unit and warranty was 12 months (?) and not based on number of shots. Hope this helps.

Hi. I just picked up an Ena 4 from a friend. What consumables do I need to buy for it? I was told that I should get a new Clearyl Blue 60. Anything else?
    Chester L on Dec 11, 2014
Best Answer: Depending on if you would like to use the filter, or descale, you can set the machine, and it will prompt you to either change the filter or descale the machine, you do not need to do both. You will also need cleaning tablets for cleaning the internal components when the machine prompts you too. Finally, you can use Jura's milk frother cleaner to occasionally soak the panarello to break down the milk build-up that occurs over time. Links are below to help you find what you need!

How many grams of coffee does this machine use when set to Mild, Normal or Strong? How about 2 Cups?
If I want a strong Espresso, is it better to select Strong or 2 Cups? (Assuming same amount of water for each).

    Thank you
    Mohamed E on Apr 16, 2014
Best Answer: At the strong setting, this Jura Ena 5 has a variable brewing chamber that holds between 5 and 16 grams of ground coffee. The 2 Cups option always brews the Strong setting, but also doubles the volume of liquid. This is explained in the manual as the following:

"Please Note: When selecting 2 CUPS the ENA will always grind in position STRONG and will double the programmed volume, e.g. if the programmed volume is 5 oz. the ENA will brew a total of 10 oz. of coffee."

Therefore for the strongest espresso, I would suggest using just the Strong programmed setting and not the 2 Cups option, as it waters down the espresso with the intention of using two cups and doesn't increase the grams ground. Hope this helps clarify!

I know it does Espresso but can you make a cup of coffee with this machine as well? If so, how?
    A shopper on Jul 3, 2013
Best Answer: Any super automatic machine can make an Americano, which is a shot of espresso with more water pulled through. This is the closest you will get to a regular cup of coffee with any super automatic machine.

What is the difference between the Ena 5 and Ena 4?
    Jason on Jul 1, 2013
Best Answer: The Ena 4 has a panarello wand for frothing, while the Ena 5 has a panarello wand, but also an auto froth attachment that you can use for this model. Otherwise, the two Enas are really the same!

I had this machine back in Germany but gave it away to a friend when moving to the US (220V vs. 110V).
After 2 years I just could not wait any longer.
Considering I drink my coffee black, I do not need the ENA9 (easier to make latte and cappuccino) but still have the option in case someone else is fancy a latte or cappuccino.
The best coffee to use is European espresso (lighter roast, not oily) not only because of the taste but also because of the beans do not stick in the shoot (the oil makes sliding more difficult so you might need to help manually).
The best coffee imho, is Tre Forze which is unfortunately not available in the US hence I have a friend from Italy sending it to me.
Medium temp, ground size on on three and setting on strong, this espresso is just a pleasure to enjoy.
The machine itself; easy to handle, easy to maintain, easy to keep clean.
The right size for the countertop and a very nice design as such.
Considering I am also able to work in my home office and have a lot of guests, this machine makes average about 10-12 espresso a day and more. So far it keeps it up. (2 month in use as of now)
Even for the original price, it is a bargain. (Posted on 7/10/2013)
