Is the Impressa model line better quality than the Ena model line? Is the Ena 9 superior to the other Ena models?

The Ena 9 is a new model; Any problems discovered? Is Jura REALLY superior to other brands? Thank you. tb
tom b on May 23, 2012
Best Answer: Jura as a brand is the most reliable brand that we carry, although many of our other machines are very reliable as well. The difference between the Ena 3/4 and the Ena 9 is that the 3 and 4 have a steam wand, and the Ena 9 has an automatic milk frother/steamer. We have seen that the Ena 9 carries the same reliability as the other Jura products. Many of the differences between other Jura models include the body style/look, and degree of programmability.

My ena 9 is brand new but the milk frother seems to stop drawing milk half way through the process. Any advice?
A shopper on Apr 27, 2013
Best Answer: You can control the amount of milk, but also make sure the hoses are snugly attached and forming good seals.

I want to get an entry to mid level superautomatic espresso machine. The two models that I have in mind is the Jura Ena 9 and the Jura Impressa C9. Which would you choose between the two?
cykel on Dec 16, 2014
Jura ENA 9 One Touch Espresso Machine
Jura ENA 9 One Touch Espresso Machine
Jura C9 One Touch Automatic Coffee Center
Jura C9 One Touch Automatic Coffee Center
Best Answer: Really, the two will be very similar. The amount of programmability, quality of the shot, and quality/temperature of the milk will be the same. The big differences are going to be the footprint size, water tank size and location, and the display/ease of controls. The C9 will have a larger water tank and will be on the side for easier access, but the control dial is not quite as user friendly and it will take up more counterspace. The ENA 9, on the other hand, will have a more compact footprint and an easier to decipher user dial/display, but the water tank is smaller (meaning you'll refill it more frequently) and is on the back of the machine. I think it really will just come down to what you like the looks of best, and what will be best in your kitchen for how you plan to use it!

how can I adjust the machine to make the coffee hotter? thanks
A shopper on Dec 14, 2014
Best Answer: In the settings (look in manual how to get there) you can change the heat. It had 2 settings, warm and hot. The default is hot. So, if you never changed it, it's still on the high setting. But it doesn't hurt to check.

G'day.....how r u doing. My ENA 9 machine keep on asking Empty Grounded and Fill bean on the display but were filled? Thanks alot......
A shopper on Sep 6, 2014
Best Answer: If your Jura is giving you an empty grounds notification, try removing the grounds bin (with the machine powered on) and leaving it out for about 15 seconds before reinserting to try to reset the sensor. For the bean notification, you can make sure the lid is seated correctly on the unit. If you are still having issues then Jura would need to be contacted at 800-767-3554, as we don't work on their brand, unfortunately.

I am a beginner. How do you make espresso with the ENA9? Or can you only make cappuccino and latte?
A shopper on Dec 23, 2013
Best Answer: Yes, you can make just espresso and americanos with the Jura Ena 9. There is a rotary dial on the top of the machine that you will want to turn to select which coffee drink you want to brew, and the machine will grind and dispense espresso only and not froth milk.

Hello,

Can someone please explain the major differences between the ENA 9 and the ENA5?
From what I can tell the 5 has both a panarello and autofrother, while the 9 only has the auto froth, but there has to be more to it than that.

Thank!
Joe M on Jul 17, 2013
Best Answer: That is really the major difference between the two, actually! The main differences between the superautomatic machines are features and programming, and so that autofroth with a wand is a big difference for the Ena 5. The only other thing I would mention is that the Ena 5 is discontinued, so no longer available new. Check out the compare feature on our website for side by side comparison of these machines specs- things like size of the water tank and dimensions, as well as additional features. Hope this helps!

Can this machine output steamed/frothed milk ONLY (without coffee)?

My 2year old loves drinking "coffee" with me and so I've just steamed him some milk in the past, which makes him very happy, but I'm not ready to make him a coffee addict yet ;)
A shopper on Mar 18, 2013
Best Answer: Unfortunately not. But there is the way to do so. You can let the machine steam the milk and right before it despense the coffee just exchange the glasses so you'll have steamed milk in one and the coffee in the other. It's the only way to do that.

The machine started out great. Within 3 months the coffee would dump straight to the grounds tray and not the cup. Sent the machine back for repair. It was returned in good working order. It has been back for about 8 months and started doing the same thing.
JURA wants $230 to repair it.

Won't buy another one!

Broken after 6 monthsReview by Megan

This machine will not pour a shot of espresso after 6 months. The beans grind, the coffee drips out for about 6 drops, then the system has to cycle through a "system filling" process. (Posted on 11/22/2014)

We bought our ENA 9 in 2012 and use it daily to make cafe au lait (about three 6oz cups on average). For the holidays it's been a family tradition to bring our "coffee robot" with us for extended family to enjoy. I think part of the reason we never have problems with it is that we use medium roast Illy beans which are not oily at all. We also always do the cleaning as described in the manual, which doesn't take very long at all once you figure it out. If the thing broke tomorrow we'd buy another.

Gripes would be the water container needs to be filled frequently and the cleaning tablets are expensive. (Posted on 9/15/2014)
A machine with some issues to work outReview by Sanne

We have had 3 replacement machines (lemons) since we purchased our machine in June 2012. One machine did not work at all, the second had problems with the system fill (light did not disappear). The third machine's grinder was not working after a couple of days and the fill beans light kept coming on. Our current machine lasted one year and recently I sent it in for repair because the fill beans light came on and the machine did not react to the beans in the bean compartment (again problem with the grinder). Speaking to Jura customer service, prior to sending it in, they told me since the beans are oilier here in US compared to Europe, we should let the beans dry in the air for several hours on paper towels. Personally, I think that is a lot of trouble, and not the way to handle quality coffee beans which should be kept dark and air tight. The Jura should be able to handle the beans on the US market, if it's offered here.
When the machine works it is great. The coffee is tremendous! However, I am not at ease and will not be surprised when the machine gives up on us next time. Since it is still under warranty, 2 years, I am contemplating returning it or buying an extended warranty of 1 year. This machine has only been on the US market since 2011, so still fairly new, and maybe in need of some adjustments to make it a great addition to the kitchen. (Posted on 2/21/2014)

Just feed your Jura with water, coffee beans and milk and press a button for a delicious latte. It steams the milk and adds the expresso under one spout so you don't need to move your cup.

Programming this machine is a cinch. The knob works like a mouse. Press to activate and turn to scroll through the main menus. Press again to go into the sub-menus. Use exit to get out f either. These settings can be adjusted on-the-fly to override your permanent settings.

Screen display is intuitive. Red when it wants you to do something specific. Green when it's ready to go.

Heats up in 30 seconds. Does a rinse when it starts and turns off. Asks you to do a cap/latte rinse after a cap/latte.
