Product Description

Meet Jura's smallest one touch superautomatic on the market - the sleek and stylish ENA Micro 9. With a newly designed micro brewing unit, this machine features programmable buttons for latte machiatto, cappuccino, espresso and coffee. Use the intuitive rotary dial featured on other ENA models to adjust your beverage strength, drink volume and temperature. A machine has never looked this good making a cappuccino.

Jura ENA Micro 9 One Touch Espresso Machine

  • Ultra-compact: This is Jura's smallest one touch machine on the market, 11% shorter than the current ENA line.
  • Programmability: Program four different cup sizes (machiatto, cappuccino, espresso and coffee) and select from two dosage levels (6 or 10 grams of ground coffee) and two temperature settings to brew the perfect cup.
  • I.P.B.A.S: Jura's Inteligent Pre Brew Aroma System preinfuses your grounds for maximum flavor extraction.
  • Conical Burr Grinder: The professional grade grinder gently grinds beans before brewing.
  • Cappuccino Frother: Creates whisper light foam and steams milk to higher temperatures than many superautos.
  • Aroma Preservation Seal: A protective seal on the bean hopper keeps beans at their freshest.
  • Height-adjustable Dual Spout: Cup clearance ranges from 2.5-5.5 inches, with separate pipes for milk and coffee.
  • Bipass Doser: Brew with ground coffee using the doser located on the upper left of the machine.
  • Energy Efficient: The machine automatically switches to energy-saving mode after five minutes, and turns off after two hours. A Zero-Energy switch ensures the machine draws no energy when not in use.
  • Hot hot hot! - Some of the hottest steamed milk we've seen from a one touch machine - close to 132°F
  • Streamlined chic - There's no denying this machine's compact lines are unique for a superauto.
  • Cleaning cycles - Rigorous rinsing and cleaning cycles will keep your Jura at peak performance.
  • Auto-froth only - Manual steaming is not an option with this machine.
  • Frother Cleaning - The milk hose must be cleaned after each use, and auto-frother and spout cleaned daily.
How Does it Compare? This machine is a good value for Jura given its one touch functionality.

compare to the ena 9.... better ... not better ??
A shopper on Jun 22, 2013
Best Answer: Don't know anything about the ENA 9; this is our first Jura. But I can tell you we've been through several (costly) machines, and this is the best: small, easy, and makes great cappuccinos.

Best Answer: I think it is probably possible, but not practical. It would require significant alterations to the machine that weren't anticipated by the designers of this model. If I needed automatic filling of a water reservoir, I would look for another machine.

What is best position for grinder switch. Looking for strong espresso?
Rich w on Jan 22, 2016
Best Answer: I've had my Ena Micro 9 for more than two years and just purchased one for one of my children. After experimentation when I first got it, I set the grinder on the finest setting and the dial setting on strong. In my experience the choice of coffee and roast makes the most difference.

Where is it made?
A shopper on Jun 12, 2016
Best Answer: Jura is manufactured in Switzerland. The engineering is amazing. A Swiss friend of mine has been to the factory and would never buy another brand of espresso machine.

I am using a Lelit at the moment good machine, but impossible to get predictable foam for my wife's dry latte. Have also used several Brevilles, not durable at all . I make a pair of doubles twice a day
Would this small machine be as durable as the Lelit?
Will I miss the fiddle factor of a semiautomatic? OK, that's just me being silly.
Thanks, Terry.
Traveler on May 10, 2016
Best Answer: Sorry, I don't know about a Lelit. I have only had the Jura for two months, and it is absolutely great. I bought it because we have a bigger more industrial Jura at the office which has been superb and I was impressed with the quality. the only issue I have with this machine is that the water tank is so small. Not a big deal in that it is so easy to remove the tank and fill. Hope this helps.

Can you use warm milk to get a hotter product? My lattes are barely warm. Not happy :(. Any suggestions?
Tracy S on Sep 11, 2013
Best Answer: Have you had different results with other super autos? They use the perfect brew temp. As soon as it hits a room temperature cup, it'll feel not-hot-enough. You have to do like the pros do, which is heat the cup. What I used to do is run boiling water from the machine into the cup and let it sit a few seconds. Dump it out and them make the coffee. You can also use cup warmers or boil water in the microwave for a bunch of cups.

I like hot coffee. What is the temperature of an espresso shot coming from the machine ?
Pam M on Feb 3, 2017
Best Answer: Hi Pam,
I am with you, I like my coffee HOT! Just checked my ENA Micro 9 and got 172 degrees coming out of the machine. I do preheat my cup as well before brewing so it doesn't cool down much in the cup initially.

Hi, I like the look of this unit, though I believe the water reservoir is at the back. The likelihood that this would sit on a counter with a cabinet above is very high. So, can you tell me what is the height requirement to lift the water reservoir out without having to move the unit? Thanks.
Carson H on Mar 30, 2016
Best Answer: There is a unique design for the reservoir that only demands a couple of inches above. You basically pull the reservoir up an inch and then can move it back and slide over to the side to remove. It is pretty slick. I wish the reservoir was larger though---it is only 35 ounces or so.

what is the amount of water for a strong coffee?
Jodi C on Feb 21, 2016
Best Answer: I use French roast beans, set the selector on strong and use 5 oz. water. Just experiment with the settings until you find what you like.

I have had this machine for about 6 weeks, love it! One question- is there any way to change the air intake on the milk frother to make LESS froth? I generally use soy, and this makes a very dense raft of foam on both the cap and the macchiato. Less and lighter would be better! Thank you!
A shopper on May 8, 2016
Best Answer: You can adjust the default settings for water, milk, etc. Consult the book under "Default settings.

Coffee beans filled but machine still flash fill bean?
wei leong l on Mar 1, 2016
Best Answer: You need to clean out the bean hopper. Follow the instructions in the book - it's due to a coffee bean oil buildup.

We use the machine every 40 minutes or so. Is it better to turn it off or does it matter?
A shopper on Feb 18, 2015
Best Answer: It does not matter if it's on or turned off. It is best to turn the machine off when you're done using it for the day, even if that means it's in the evening as you go to bed. But, during the day, it can certainly be left on. You can also set the length of time before it goes into standby mode, so if you would prefer not to need to wake up the machine so it resumes full heat, then you can set the time until standby to be longer than your average of 40 minutes. Happy brewing!

Does this machine have a hot water dispenser?
Frank S on Jan 7, 2015
Best Answer: Yes it does! The hot water dispenser is on the right side of the dispenser, so you can leave your cup in the same place if you like americanos, and it will dispense right into the cup!

We are having trouble getting a strong cafe latte or cappucino with this machine. We've set the strength to strong, but it's still not as strong as you'd get in a coffee shop. (I'm a caffeine junky I know...)

The settings allow you to increase the amount of water, but I find all it does is water down the coffee, rather than adding more coffee. We've changed the beans to stronger ones from Bateel. Can anyone recommend which settings are best for a strong coffee? I understand you can change the grinding size as well.

Any recommendations much appreciated!
Andrew on Oct 9, 2014
Best Answer: This Ena Micro 9 and all of the units in Juras Micro line offer just a 10 gram brewing chamber, which is closer to single shot strength. For stronger drinks I would advise brewing twice. Yes, the machine allows you to increase water pulled through the grounds, but a "Strong" setting with lower water volume (so espresso is less diluted) is still your best bet for fullest flavor. The last thing you can try is to adjust the grind just slightly finer, but keep in mind you will want to brew about 4 cups before this new grind setting is in full effect in the machine. Hope this helps!

Does this machine have an internal water purifier system ?
A shopper on May 25, 2014
Best Answer: No, this Ena Micro 9 does not have an internal water purification system, however you can purchase a Clearyl Blue water filter for use on this machine that fits into the water tank to remove minerals.

Terrible EspressoReview by KEK
We bought the Jura ENA Micro 9 a week ago, and I'm returning it today. It makes terrible espresso, and since cappuccinos and lattes are based on espresso, those are terrible too.. The machine makes one espresso in four seconds -- about a fifth of the time it should take -- with very little crema. To get coffee like what is made by this machine, you could save your money and buy a Nespresso. I'm still searching for a home machine that Will make a wonderful cup of espresso from my purchased beans. (Posted on 6/6/2016)
Nice MachineReview by Stinky907
I have been using my Micro9 for six months now. I make four espressos a day and have absolutely no complaints. I would definitely buy it again.
It heats up quick and makes a good cup after a few tweaks after its set up. (Posted on 1/24/2016)
Love itReview by Ashlee
This is our third super automatic. Last year we replaced a Saeco with the Jura Ena 9. We loved it, but returned it after being constantly prompted that the tray was missing (even though it was not). Aside from that issue, we loved that machine but couldn't find it, so settled on the very similar Ena micro 9. It's small and sleek and as an added bonus for us, since I had many left, uses the same filters and cleaning tablets. We've had it for about a week and it makes great, hot coffee. The coffee bean hopper is improved over the ENA 9 in that the beans don't get stuck around the finger guard and it has a protective seal to keep the beans fresh (the Ena 9 did not). Normally we drink Americanos, but the ease of which this machine makes pouring delicious cappuccinos has tempted me to make them almost every day.

SCG shipped it quickly and had a competitive price on this machine. I would order through them again. (Posted on 1/20/2016)
Highly Satisfied!Review by Tim
I bought this machine refurbished, for HALF the price the new one was at! And wow, what a deal! Best shots made right at home. Even though it was refurbished, it was like new. Could not tell the difference! Cant beat the customer service and the quality that seattle coffee gear has to offer. Highly recommend this machine! (Posted on 1/15/2016)

Exactly what I had hoped forReview by Coffee lover
I had experienced this machine at a friends home and it was the best coffee I ever had made on a home machine. And now I have one!
When I first received it, I was a little overwhelmed with the directions, though not for long. It's a very user friendly machine and makes delicious coffee.
